Just over a year ago, Guy Whittingham gave a crestfallen interview after another defeat and said something along the lines of he was still trying to fathom out exactly where things were going wrong. Five months later, Richie Barker looked a broken man in front of the cameras and stated that he did not know what the answer was. Yesterday, Andy Awford said that he could not put his finger on the problem. With a new Adjutent who has the much needed campaign experience we all said was needed, and the campaign medals to go with it, is the writing on the wall for Andy. I hope not but fear it so.

The truth of the matter is, with the exception of a very few gems, we have a squad of mediocre journeymen and has-beens, and several youngsters that range from might-be to wannabe to never-will-be - 32 of them.

History's repeating because we keep going for inexperienced managers.

When was the last time we had an experienced manager?

That would be Richie Barker, with his mentor Steve Coppell. And who is more experienced than Coppell?

Before that was Steve Cotterill. He kept us up in the Championship, but the fans didn't like his style of playing.

In between we had Michael Appleton and Guy Whittingham. Both (seemingly) good coaches.

I don't think we keep on appointing rookies. But there's no doubting that there is something wrong at Pompey. Maybe we're looking in the wrong place?

Barker wasn't that experienced to be fair, and Coppell did f all anyway.

You should've gone for "Mad dog" Allen when he was available like I suggested. He is proven at League 2 level and has the ability to foster team spirit and a winning mentality...Oh yes, and he is an ex-player too. Still your loss is Barnet's gain.

Perhaps your team should have appointed him rather than "Dutch" Ronnie eh, Saints_Alive. I mean four defeats on the trot now, and SB3 being very quiet about it all. A bit worrying !

Rather than constantly blaming the current gaffer, maybe re-evaluate the fans expectations. League 2 mid table may well be an appropriate level for a few years.
    Just saying......

I don't think it's expecting too much to expect players to put some effort in and to be able to string a few passes together or mark someone

Also, the only reason we're not in the relegation zone already is because of our good start to the season. If we just take into account since the beginning of October, if we're not in the zone, we're probably close.
