Irrespective of who played and well today and who didn't, who got sent off and who didn't, and whether the ref had a good game or not; fact of life is that yet another game without a goal, in fact not a single shot on target. I think Jose got his tactics wrong, he should have played 11 outfield players today. Time to stop grasping at straws; Bruceys certainly got a real job on his hands to get some confidence back into the squad so they start expressing themselves again, at the mo they look petrified to attempt to do anything outside of what is clearly the strict tactics Brucey is asking them to adhere to. We are about to find out whether in Brucey we have indeed got our best manager or one who simply is going to mimic Browny's achievements and take us down in our second season.
What a ****ing plonker. There where times when we matched Chelsea, Cahill should of been sent off in the first half for a tackle on Aluko and the referee only gave a yellow, bottled it. Did the same thing in the second half when the same player dived and should of got a second yellow.
we matched Chelsea for large lumps of the game , William was a class apart in particular . City got about them , OK scoring looked unlikely but the effort and performance was enough to know theres still a **** load of points to play for . Im not even convinced Hudds foul was all that bad , as he makes the challenge , his foot is raised but eventually everyone has to return their foot to the ground and in that moment his landed on a peg . by all means give a red but i dont think theres a need to question Huddlestones intent
Bealing after a loss against one of Europe's best teams negates any celebrations for victories over lower Prem teams.
On balance a 2-0 loss played with 10 men for 30 mins vs the best team in the country isn't too bad. Especially since we were not over-run and played some good stuff That doesn't mean we're safe though We still need to score goals to stay up
We just played the team that will the PL this season, will at least get to the CL final, and will more than likely pick up 1 or 2 domestic cups as well. We lost 2-0 away at their ground. With 10 men. After our best defender was injured and had to be replaced. Our best midfielder is still out injured. We fought and played until the very last minute. If that's not good enough for you, I would suggest picking another sport or better still, another team.
I am very confidentthings will start to turn for us soon. We have had 9 away games out of 16 games, and played all the top clubs away bar Man Citeh. Today we gave a good account of ourselves with 10 men against 11 + the ref on their side.
Any one with a football brain expected us to lose today although we still hoped we could sneak a point from them. The worst thing about today was other clubs around us picking up points now is the time to stick with the team and get behind them starting next Saturday
How you can post that after a pretty promising display against a team that's only lost once in 20 odd games is beyond me. If it wasn't for THUD getting sent off, we looked as though we could nick a point from that. There's no pressure on Bruce, and I for one aren't scared yet. We've played a lot of the harder teams away from home; Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd, Newcastle etc. We've also been hampered by injuries, compassionate leave and suspensions. Win the next two games, and we could be scratching the top 10. It's far too easy to hit the panic button.
I agree with The Happiness. And with regard to the part I’ve highlighted, I’m sure it’s pending/already have.
Bore off. We were more than a match for Chelsea today. Take your negativity elsewhere. Are you the guy who stormed out in the Upper today because Meyler was booked for the handball saying you're not coming back only to return 5 minutes later?
