Wel Gardos was very good against Arsenal and ok against Stoke. But Koeman sees him everyday in training and probably thinks he needs more time. Who knows, maybe we haven't seen enough of Gardos, i mean maybe these two good games don't show the whole picture, the one that Koeman sees on the training pitch every day. Yoshida had also good games, but he's generally only a decent CB.

Gignac would come in handy. And I can imagine him coming here, a bit old for a top,top club, and we colud probably offer him bigger wages than Marseille.

He's a Marseille fan though isn't he? His family are all from there as well, can't imagine he'd want to leave. However, if Marseille don't qualify for the Champions League I doubt they've got the finances to offer him another contract, and admittedly his relatively low wages will always be a factor. He's been in tremendous form though.
 
Gardos played at left centre back for Steaua last season in the Champions League in all 6 games. Szukala was playing right centre back. As mentioned he was the left centre back in the cup games, Fonte has only ever played right centre back for us. Gardos is great with both feet. Yoshida was solid in the last game, but I was frustrated to see him playing over Gardos against City and Arsenal.
 
The Gardos debate is an interesting one, I like most on this forum would have picked him every time over Yoshida, but clearly Ronald, who see's him on a daily basis doesn't yet fancy him as a viable alternative to Jose and Toby.
For me Yoshida is a stopper, hoofer that's brings nothing much to the team, whereas Gardos appears to have something about him that can hopefully be nurtured?
 
Heard a rumour yesterday Ryan Bertrand is now house hunting in the southampton area as he is fully intending to sign for us :)
 
Torres is going to be offered around to premier league clubs for free according to BBC rumours <laugh>

I think we should go in for a cheeky loan offer til the end of the season (That's if Milan cancel his loan). Could do with some back up until the summer and he isn't the worse player.
