Knew it would happen I've been keeping my mouth shut about that thought all day. Southampton have reacted well though.
United lucky to go in level. Van Gaal has to change this 3 at the back, it's utterly useless when you're up against one striker and trying to be the more attacking team. I know we're in a bad way at the moment but I really think they're there for the taking when we play them if they're going to stick with this system.
Two players who are at totally the wrong teams and Mata showed why tonight, he should not be at Utd because he doesn't fit in. The other? Wellbeck.
Mane was very lucky not to be sent off at the end. Two footed, check. Off the ground, check. Scissor challenge, check. Right infront of the ref, check. Awful decision from a poor ref. Most of the luck was United's tonight though, they were really poor but Southampton gifted it to them by missing good chances and gifting them the opener and arguably the winner.
Three at the back doesn't work - especially with defenders who can't defend. Rojo is just not suited to the PL and constant injuries and the resultant changes makes it very difficult for players to build up an understanding. Young and Valencia need to give the team width going forward, not as defensive cover. And if you know your defence is shaky, the players in front get nervy and don't play confident passes for fear of losing possession. But the big plus is that Utd still have match winners. RvP has got back to going what he does best - taking chances when they come. Just like Rooney has been doing. 5 wins on the trot playing badly should be ominous for any teams thinking of top four.
You've a top name there Luke that's why things are happening again for you as they didn't under David who? His appointment was nothing more than Scottish favouritism, tantamount to nepotism. You should be alright now. I said at the start you'd be challenging.
No problem tots but Chelsea are doing their normal "being caught by the pack" job. They were quite a few points clear and now only three. City are blowing a bit hot and cold so who else is there?
Chelsea and City are way ahead of the rest this season, IMO, but 3rd is up for grabs. Utd's defence is woeful, but we have enough class (and experience) in the front six to be favourites for 3rd now.
Yes, no doubt in my mind that Chelsea & City are a different class to the rest of the premiership. 3rd? Who knows? It could go to any one of 4-5 teams, the way things are going.
Seems you've only got to have a couple of fortunate wins and you can look better than you are.Think it's about our turn........
