Forster - 4 - They had 2 shots on target. The 2nd goal was really poor, he should have come and grabbed it out of the air AND he shouldn't be nutmegged at his near post from such a tight angle. The first goal was mainly Fonte's fault but again Forster was slow to come out and shouldn't really be beaten by a nutmeg (again) at his near post.

Clyne - 8 - Did really well, had young in his pocket all game and got forward well.

Fonte - 6 - Obviously a glaring error for the first goal. Other than that though I thought he was pretty good today, learned from his mistake quickly.

Yoshida - 7 - Slightly worse than Fonte but no glaring error.

Betrand - 7 - Similar to Clyne but wasn't quite as good offensively or defensively.

Davis - 8 - Very impressed with him today, had to do a lot on his own and made several good runs forward with and without the ball.

Wanyama - 8 - He's fast becoming our most important player. Bossed Fellani.

Tadic - 7 - Put in a few good balls (notably Long's chance). Buzzed around a lot but looked a little tired.

Long - 7 - Was his usual self, working incredibly hard but never looks like he'll score. Missed a very good (and relatively easy) chance.

Pelle - 7 - Strong in the air today, bossing Fellani and the United centre backs but snatched at a few chances.

Mane - 5 - He's most definitely a rough diamond, seems to do a lot right then either hold onto the ball too long or play the wrong pass.

Fraser Forster is 6ft 5 and yet is terrified to come off his line more than a few yards. What a joke. He must give the back four the ****s whenever a cross comes near him. He and the goalkeeping coach need to sort it out ASAP because he's costing us points.

I think the error against Villa is playing on his mind. You could see tonight that he thought about coming out for Jose's poor back pass, but changed his mind. Couldn't see the second from where I was, but we shouldn't be making a substitution right before a free kick. Hesketh was wandering around asking where he should go at the time!

Yeah, the lack of communication and trust between the goalkeeper and the back four is evident for some time now. How many times have I seen Forster claiming the ball, but the defenders rather kick it in panic?

I think Yoshida did ok. You can't really fault him for any of the goals, and other than that, United hasn't created any chances.

I'd have given Fonte an 8 if he didn't give up the goal.

When we signed Forster there were a few reports from Scotland that he struggles to command his area.

Wanyama 8? I didn't watch the game but had it mentioned to me that he wasn't brilliant.

Agree with Clyne, Young in pocket my thoughts exactly

Cleverley would have bossed Fellaini today, that said, Vic absolutely cantered the game tonight, be amazed if Arsenal dont come calling in January or the Summer

Man U were not good today at all. We were maybe average-ish overall but gave up two soft goals. I guess that makes for mostly 6's and 7's all around except maybe Forster with a 5.

If we can get some players back from injury I'm still fairly confident in the defense overall. They should ensure we finish no worse than than tenth. We still have a shot at CL, IMO and definitely at Euro. But the Long/Mane slot still gives us problems. Mane seems to me clearly the more dangerous player but can't seem to get his head on straight. Long always gets an A for effort but rarely for actual result. If Rodriguez can't come back that's an area I think we will have to strengthen in January.

We dominated the game. Koeman got his tactics and selection perfect. We were all over them for 90 minutes. Fonte and Forster make two individual mistakes to cost us. Very disappointed.

Forster 4 - Has to claim the cross on the 2nd goal. Could have done better with the first.
    Clyne 7
Fonte 4 - School boy error
    Yoshida 7.5
    Bertrand 6
    Wanyama 8
    Davis 8
    Long 6
    Tadic 7
    Mane 7
    Pelle 8

    I agree. Oh and he's 6ft 7.

    Glad Wanyama didn't get a booking...he's close to a suspension I believe.

The first goal was clearly the Groundsmans fault, he didn't water the pitch before kick off, the ball didn't skid through to Fraser as it would have done normally.

Fellaini did his best to get him booked, but like everything else he did today failed miserably to do so.

You shouldn't listen to gossip and should watch the game before making comments like this, he wasn't spectacular, he never is, but he was solid and was subject to some robust attention, but the opponents just kept bouncing off of him, I am sure Fellaini nearly cacked himself in the first few minutes as he dwelt on the ball and was robbed by an apparent brick **** house! He was a lot more cautious then on and never really made any impression.

In Tadics defence today he is carrying a groin injury and normally wouldn't have started today for fear of agravating it, he barely passed a late fitness test according to RonKo and was never going to get more than an hour.

Forster gets a battering for both goals, without a mention to the shocking defending for the free-kick. I agree Forster should have come, but he didn't. I would berate my U14 CBs if they left 2 players unmarked at a free-kick... because they "thought the keeper should have come"

Long getting a 7 is generous. Forster gets a 4 because he "didn't do his job" ... Long's job was to put the ball in the net and he had two sitters that he missed. The far post header was a gift and he hit it straight at De Gea and the one in the first half just after we scored.... well.

Fully agree with you FLT forster was poor but he was not alone, Mane was shocking Long should have done so much better with his chances.

There was a transfer rating thread a while back which i gave Koeman a 6 out of 10 i later ammended my view to a 9 out of 10 as we were flying high, and i got a bit carried away and caught up in the dream. I have to say i am really unimpressed by these 3 players when you think we spent 30 million to get them they need to bring much more to the party.
