Top 4 only matters at the end of a season. If you get confused by "top 4" just think of it as a nickname for the teams that are in the Champions League <ok>

Champions are only crowned at the end of the season. If you get confused easily don't look at the below picture.

Monk plans to appeal Fabianski red card

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30370681

But television replays suggested the Senegal international handled the ball before being fouled by Fabianski.
"It should have been handball and a free-kick to us," said Monk.

This is a bit of a ****ed up case, because usually you appeal that a decision was wrong, here they are saying another decision should have happened first which should be taken into account. That is a big precedent, but on the other hand Fabianski might not have lost the challenge if the handball hadn't beaten him, so it is kind of relevant.

Another thing is, a handball is only a foul if deliberate, so it's possible the FA will say the handball wasn't a foul and then not overturn the decision. The ball bounces right in front of him, and he's being shoved from behind, so ruling it was "deliberate" is not clear IMO.

Doubt the FA will go anywhere near that argument.

Opens up too many cans of worms - if they rescind the red card then there will be a flood of new appeals based on a throw in being given wrong two minute ago etc.

Ultimately the FA view, required by FIFA iirc, is that the decision of the referee in the game is final and can't be changed. The only discretion they have is to overturn a red card if the ref has gotten the specific decision around the red wrong, or to punish red card offences the ref hasn't seen.

In other words they can't rule on the handball unless it would have been punished with a red, and even then all they can do is suspend Sakho, they can't alter other decisions based on the card being issues.

Of course this is all provisional on the media not picking up on it. If the tabs decide to make an issue out of it, you can guarantee the FA will do whatever the S*n et al tell them to.

I'm sure, the now even richer, RVP was pleased to join the club of players who have at least one PL winners medal. They allow Stevie MBE to come to their Christmas party but only if he agrees to perform his trademark dance routine "The Slip, Stumble and Choke".
