They've yet to have their customary wobble. I remember they looked invincible at the beginning of one year (2011?) and the press (those London based mostly) said that they ought to be given the title in November . They in the end were caught by United. I am not saying United will catch them if they falter. I think it will be city who will likely benefit from any Chelsea wobble.
I rate Matic more than I do the two CBs. I want to see how he does against a top side, or how the two CB's do if he gets injured. Either way they will ship goals. Also interested to see whether Fabregas can raise his game against a decent side.
Chelsea will win it as there isn't really any competition. Too many of City's big players have lost interest and their manager is a relatively clueless but likeable gent. Arsenal are Arsenal and we need the inevitable transition season. Many of Jose's titles are won by default. He inevitably quits or chokes when presented with a challenge so will be gone by the end of the 15/16 season.
Fabregas is a flat track bully. He disappears in the bigger games. Barca were more than happy to get rid.
Teams feel beaten before on the pitch i guess. No need. When they dont get there way they lose focus and get anxious. There defence isnt good as such but as you say, it rarely gets tested.
Correct. 2004 to 2006 are evidence of exactly this. Soon as united got their act together we showed how to dominate a strong league year after year the way only we could back then.
The title is Chelsea's to lose. Mourinho and his players may not enjoy that kind of position. They will have 6 months for other teams and the media to aim potshots at them. They'll be expected to win all the time and any draw and defeat will signal the possibility of a collapse especially if their lead is being reduced steadily.
If we can chip another 3 or 4 points off it by end of january the last few months will be interesting to say the least. Ive expected us to have a brilliant second half of the season so will need to keep it up all season. Sadly for football, i expect they will.
A City win would be best for us. They're going to finish 2nd so we are at best playing for third and Saints are a genuine contender for that position.
I'd like a draw or Saints loss only so that their form and confidence dips before they play us. Don't want them coming into our game having had decent results against City and Arsenal.
