This is obviously great news for the club, but I can't help wondering at what stage do the club consider cashing in..remember it's only 18 months ago Michu was being touted as a 20 player, and we can't give him away at the moment
You have to have some faith that a player is going to perform at an expected level for the term of the contract ... otherwise why enter into it. Bony is 25 years old so the new contract would keep him with us until 2018 or just at the peak of his career. At that point we will either have got the best years out of him, or we can renew expecting another year at least, or sell him on at a premium.
Premier League top scorers in 2014: Wilfred Bony – Swansea City – 17 Sergio Aguero – Manchester City – 16 Edin Dzeko – Manchester City – 14 Yaya Toure – Manchester City – 13 Daniel Sturridge – Liverpool – 13 Wayne Rooney – Manchester United – 12 Luis Suarez – Liverpool (Barcelona) – 12 Steven Gerrard – Liverpool – 12 Romelu Lukaku – Everton – 11
Now that makes nice reading , and also more fuel to the fire when it comes to Clubs sniffing around him
I still don't understand why Arsenal or Liverpool didn't buy him. I notice Lukaju isn't on the list and Everton paid £28 million for him. These stats and Lukaku's transfer would put a price tag of £30-£35 million on Bony's back. If they don't pay up, they can bugger off. Either way we win. Edit; Didn't look that far down the list
With those figures , Graham was very good value for 12 goals .Just one goal of Grahams was a spot kick also.Went totally down hill after he left though , like most .
Yes he was , considering it was his 1st season at PL level he wasn't too shabby .Just a pity he wasn't as professional off the pitch
Missed the concept on that one , Bony scored the most goals in the Premier in 2014 calender year ....wow, pretty cool..
