The team is devoid of confidence and ideas, we don't press or close the ball down and get continually caught on the break. Our build-up is also too slow. Grabban, Johnson and even Jerome were very poor.
Which, having conceded numerous sloppy goals already this season begs the question WTF do they practice on the training ground all week?
Bang on - all our biggest problems nicely summarised. Hooper's goal today showed how stubborn Adams has been in persisting with Grabban also. I'll stand up for Jerome though - he's got us out of plenty of sticky situations already this season.

But we should be better. We're receiving £60m in parachute payments and DO have the best squad in the division (squad, NOT team). Any team aiming for the play-offs should be winning at least half their home games - we're not even coming close to that figure. Something has to change, hopefully from the management and not the board. 10th should not be considered 'fair' for us - how unambitious do you want to be?
3 goals at home should be enough to win a game our defense is sloppy but Ruddy costs us goals almost every game.

I´m not unambitious Hucks, just realistic, because with the current personnel I can´t see us improving any time soon, otherwise we would have done so, well before now.
I would argue that we don't have the best squad in this league, they were not good enough to keep us up and we sold 2 of our best players Fer and Snodgrass.

I'm not happy to accept mid table experimentation this season. We won't get a better shot at returning to the prem. Why shouldn't we expect to be near the top of the pile this year - with our wage bill and the players we have, anything else is utter failure.
In 12 months time we won't have the howson's, the redmonds, the hoopers. We'll be back to the becchios. What an absolute waste of a really strong position. Makes me so angry how we have completely and utterly screwed up being in sich a positive place from a couple of years ago. Bad decision after bad decision.
Remember someone making a comment about 'the jury being out' on Adams. Really? Is the jury really still out? The jury wS back after those 5 games from last season for me. Couldn't win a match in the prem and can't still when up against inferior opposition with a comparatively better squad. Anyone still championing the radio presenter needs their heads examining. Even if he came good from here and scraped promotion through playoffs, for me he'd be gone the second the season finished. So incredibly out of his depth it's actually quite uncomfortable to watch.
Although now it seems phelan is next in line. Great coach but a peter grant in waiting for me. Pulis all day long. Pulis and phelan. Now that would be something worth taking seriously.

I'm not asking for an immediate knee jerk reaction, like KIO is on another thread, but Mcnally must have seen enough in the last 12 or so games to convince him that he and the board made a flawed, and pretty cheapskate decision in the summer, which has come back to bite them on the arse.
The only reason we might be 'stuck' with this recent bullshit and lack of passion is because of the length of contract they foolishly offered Adams and the ££ it would (hopefully will) take to terminate it - before our season ends in any further obscurity

Well if you want my honest opinion Cromer, and I´d love to be proved wrong, because it does seem as if Adams is getting more and more out of his depth, I don´t think McNally will act any time soon, just a gut feeling I have

May I ask:
a) what makes you think that, and
b)do you think it's the correct decision? To allow more time, I mean, especially with Phelan's arrival imminent.
I´ve got no particular reason for thinking that, as I say, it´s just a gut feeling. I will just say though, that if the Phelan appointment was a McNally, rather than an Adams, decision, then that might have a bearing on future developments, but from what I´ve heard, it was solely an Adams decision.
I think if Phelan hadn´t been coming, then to remove Adams would have been easier, but as the situation is now, I´m not so sure, and it will be very interesting to see if his arrival can have the desired effect, if it doesn´t, then would probably be the best, and correct time to act.

In my opinion the January transfer window will be a crucial time whether or not Adams is still in charge. We ought to be looking at a new Right Back (to replace Whittaker rather than R. Martin) and desperately ought to be looking at at least one more winger (depending on whether E. Bennett or the Murphys will be involved or not) to improve our delivery.
We do currently have Odija, Hoolahan and Ryan Bennett out through injury who would be around the first team were they fit so I don't see central defence or central midfield as areas in which we desperately need to make signings.
We should concentrate on getting the players we have into good form as soon as possible so that we don't need to panic-buy. When I say this I'm particularly thinking of Olsson, Ruddy, Rusty, Redmond, Tettey and Johnson. If NA and MP can get these players playing anywhere near their best then there is not a lot missing from the team in terms of promotional quality. What worries me is that we don't appear to have improved much, if it all, over the last few weeks.
I personally am willing to give NA a few more games before I openly call for his removal, on the grounds that things might improve with the arrival of MP. If things pick up then give NA financial backing in January to fill in the gaps in the squad (a winger who can cross please!), but if things don't improve then I will reluctantly accept that he 'HAS' to go and we should act to ensure the new manager has the January transfer window at their disposal.
Basically I think the next two or three games are crunch time because changing manager should be a last resort but we don't want a repeat of the indecisiveness we had with Hughton. That would be bad for all of us.

Can I just remind everybody that calling names and making puerile remarks about wishing our team to lose is just the sort of thing that has lost us some very good posters in the past, the likes of Redruth and ILD and many others left and our forum is the poorer for that! I understand being disappointed with the result, God knows I'm thoroughly pissed off with yesterday's result, but calling each other names will not change the result, it will not make McNally think, "Oh, I've upset someone on not606, I'd better sack Neil Adams!"

I agree with that Dave, but not everyone has the same degree of self control, and frustration will sometimes get the better of some people, and they will boil over. As others have said many times before, it´s only because we all want the best for the club, that we react as we do, we can´t necessarily all react the same way. I feel exactly the same as you do about foul mouthing and such, but for some, it´s the only way they can relieve their own tension, I think maybe everyone needs to be a little bit more tolerant, both of each other, the team, the manager and the Club.
