11 games in and already Paddy power pays out.
Is this some sort of a record?

Hope we don't pull off a goons 2003!!

ridiculous to pay out after 11 games
we are only 4 clear
still they are getting a lot of publicity which obviously was the aim

And here was me thinking that i was being overly optimistic back in late September saying they would be paying out in late February ! What time is the parachutist dropping in the trophy tomorrow !!!

I'm reminded of 1998 when, I think the owner of Betfred, a United fan decided United had already won the league in January and paid out on it.

United didn't win the league that year.

I hope thats not an omen.

Well, the team who overtook Utd that year certainly won't be doing it again..

Paddypower paid out on us winning the 05/06 league in september in 2005

It's a fairly safe PR stunt for the bookies. Chelsea are a very good team playing in a league that for various reasons isn't offering them a challenge. Jose will have the luxury of coasting the league when the big European games come along. That will be the only genuine test for Chelsea this season.

Makes perfect sence for a bookie to pay out now, they will have given decent odds at the start of the season but not many will have taken them up on it. They can`t realistically make anybody odds on until after Christmas so if they pay out now they will take a loss but gain it back from delighted punters thinking they are good and putting it all back on top 4/bottom 3 predictions etc.
