Don't generally like loan players on principle - tend to think they lack any real committment.

The younger up coming players just use a club as a stepping stone for their future elsewhere, and the older ones on their way down can be looking for a "pension" club to extend their time in the game. Zaha and Fowler were probably at the two extreme ends of the spectrum.

So what about Ravel? I see he's not Slade's flavour of the month from an article in The Indepedent.

    http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...eatens-for-offkey-ravel-morrison-9863226.html

So is Ravel just treading water and not giving it a real go.......OR is Slade's dogmatic 4-4-2 preference and apparent inflexibility to try something different actually freezing the likes of him and Daehli out? You could argue that Connolly's inclusion (as good as he was) instead of Fabio last week was indicative of the way that Slade is thinking.

Would sending Ravel back to West Ham be a good move, or would it lock us into a one way street approach to getting out of this division?

Has he not been given the opportunity he needs or does he flatter to deceive?

We have seen glimpses of his ability in his cameo appearances but has he set the games alive? I missed the Wendies game so can't comment on that.

Clearly he has had attitude issues at other clubs where his talent has always been recognised but does not appear to have the mental ability to set these issues aside and perform consistently on the pitch - possibly in training also. Could be his court appearances both past and up and coming may also be a distraction for him?

Russell has to make a judgement but if he lets him go simply on the basis that he doesn't fit with a strict 4 4 2 that confirms a lack of flexibility on Russell's part and will give a green light to other clubs to set up in other formations against us and over run our central midfield - unless he abandons his 2 wide men policy in favour of narrower midfielders and allows our full backs to operate as wing backs - which Brayford and Fabio can do provided they get cover from midfield.

    The joys of management, eh?

Would rather see Dahli and Kimbo given a chance. At least their our players rather than getting someone fit for another club.

Slade didn't bring him into the club though did he?

I cannot see him having a future here with a 4-4-2 merchant.

Would probably be better suited to the Christmas pudding formation, then Ravel could be the sixpence in the middle. He's vamoose. Yes we will be playing 4 4 fecking 2 and i for one like it.

So you like losing away then do you?

FFS, let's get real here - this constant 4-4-2 approach is old hat and is going to get us nowhere.

We don't need another 4-4-2 dinosaur like Dave Jones at the helm - we need our manager to think outside the box in this day and age.

I thought it was our 'strikers' that were always outside the box.

It's what they do when they get in there that matters.

Two gilt edge chances missed at Brum you'd back your grandmother to convert even playing 4-4-2 and we couldn't hit the bloody net.
