Andy Murray pissed people in England off twice. The first time was his joke about supporting whoever England are playing in the football. The second was his pro-independence, "Let's do this!", bollocks, despite the fact that he couldn't do anything, as he lives in London.
Jamie O'Hara signed for Blackpool I see. What ever happened to this lad? Was it that girl he chased that messed him up? or injuries?
On a completely different theme, those of you interested in good American humor could do worse than read the Onion website. "Report: America Still World Leader In Manufacturing Excuses" & "Congress Passes Bill To Add Armed Patrol To U.S. Poverty Line" They alternate between lampooning the toothlessness of everyone but the right in the US with giving news story treatment to small humiliations or petty sadism like Man Running After Bus Delights Bus Occupants 'CLEVELAND—Passengers aboard a northbound number 67 bus were reportedly filled with delight and joy Monday as they watched a fellow resident run helplessly after the rapidly departing vehicle. The endlessly uplifting and entertaining chase, which took place between 8:23 a.m. and 8:25 a.m., began shortly after the Cleveland-area bus pulled away from its Sixth Avenue stop. According to passengers, it was then that they first noticed a large unidentified man in a business suit running in complete desperation to catch up with the bus. "He was actually moving pretty fast," said Donald Schoemeyer, one of roughly a dozen passengers whose spirits were lifted by the hulking, heavily sweating man. "Even when it was clear that there was no way he was going to make it, he still kept running after us." "I guess he really needed to get on that bus," added Schoemeyer, a faint smile forming on his lips. Reports indicate that a number of factors contributed to the overall feeling of joy among those lucky enough to witness the spectacle. Among them, the fact that the man was not in very good physical shape, an indication that the act of running was in all likelihood his last recourse; the black briefcase the man was carrying at the time of his amusing chase, which not only added weight to his already cumbersome frame, but also suggested he was trying to be on time for some important business meeting; and lastly, the growing improbability that the man was ever going to reach the speeding bus. "His face was getting all sorts of red," said Cleveland resident Roberta Washington, who sat inches away from one of 15 stop-request buttons and watched the whole frantic pursuit from her seat. "You could tell he was yelling something from the way his mouth kept on moving, and the way he was waving that one arm all around." "Heh," Washington continued. "He was waving that arm pretty good." According to public transportation sources, the morning commute aboard the number 67 bus is generally unremarkable and monotonous, with commuters sitting in silence and dreading another long, hard day of work. The appearance of the running, wildly gesticulating man, however, instantly altered the mood aboard the bus, bringing with it a kind of levity and cheerfulness not experienced in weeks. "At first, I thought I was the only one who saw him, but then I turned around and there were like six other people also grinning to themselves," said Michael Schwarz, who takes the 67 every morning. "It was just this really nice moment we all got to share together." Those on the bus weren't the only ones warmed upon sight of the increasingly exhausted man. Pedestrians and motorists along Sixth Avenue were also afforded a brief moment of joy after seeing the panting man momentarily trip, spill his coffee on the sidewalk, and then look up in despair as the bus sped further and further away from him. Roughly one minute into the chase, when it appeared that the now-kneeling man had finally given up, and that no additional pleasure would be brought to the enthralled passengers, a serendipitous event took place. Witnesses at the corner of Howard Road and Davies Avenue reported that a red traffic light finally brought the speeding bus to a stop, allowing the delightful man one last opportunity to catch up. "Believe it or not, that poor bastard actually got to his feet again and started running our way," said city worker Jerome Turner, who claimed that he had been rooting for the man the entire time. "He almost made it, too. But then the light turned green and, you know how it is, I just had to keep driving."'
He dug them out of it last season, got them to the playoffs, were a few penalties away from another FA Cup final, and then was given a chance to create his own side(the main ones were signed late in the window) and then gets sacked whilst he's still settling them. I guess there must've been something else behind the scenes, maybe he lost the dressing room, because otherwise it seems a really poor decision from Whelan. Mackay's favourite for the job and more fool Whelan if he hires him after the **** storm a few months ago.
For someone who has played the game, Whelan seems to struggle to get football matters right. The grapevine says he is a difficult guy to work for and I suspect Rosler is no shrinking violet, so a clash of strong personalities is my bet for what has happened.
I'm off to the big game today. No, not the England match, but the big game in Division One, Swindon in third at home to unbeaten Bristol City who are top. Disappointed to miss Massimo Luongo as he is away with Australia, but interested to seeing how Jonathan Obika is playing these days.
My mother's singing the Fijian anthem for the Wales/Fiji match this afternoon. So if there's a major diplomatic incident between the two countries, you'll know why.
It seems a long time ago when Jamie O'Hara was a setting a good example to our younger squad members. In those days, he had good work ethics, fantastic attitude and a strong determination to make a career in the game. Many a more talented footballer is drifting around the lower leagues and non league football because they couldn't match O'Hara's attitude. At some point he went to the other extreme and became a sullen and unlikeable man with a sour attitude to football, football fans and everything in general to do with the game. It does seem as if this change coincides with his meeting the "delightful" Dannielle Lloyd and even being banished to rot in Wolves reserves didn't make him see sense. Now he is being divorced and struggling to get clubs interested in him and one has to say, it is not surprising. Blackpool might not be his last chance, but it is only a short teem deal, so it is clear he needs to buck his ideas up pretty quickly if he is to resurrect his career.
Checking on Obika should only entail making sure he's still there and hasn't somehow ended back at Spurs Have good un and find us a couple of Bales while you're there
England lose by three points again, need to stop that, win a match and go. France win by three, hmmmmmmmmm!.
O.Spurcat. Do you think the reduction in wages may have caused the divorce?Looks like she wanted a sugar daddy!
Fair play to him for today, when he got a 2pm call to step in for the injured Roger Federer and then played an exhibition match with Djokovic.
I don't know why there is so much hate for Murray. He's won 2 grand slams and an Olympic gold medal, for a British sportsman his record is amazing.
King, I think Scotland is more to the front of his mind than Britain and he's just another petty minded little Scotch berk who wants England to lose at everything as he stated near enough.
No he doesn't. IT WAS A JOKE!!! He lives in England, has an English girlfriend and represents UK with distinction. People who say what you say are basing it on a joke he made many moons ago that he has constantly said was a joke and doesn't represent his views. Let's see how far we go at Davis Cup and Grand Slams without him
He made the joke after the interviewer asked who Scotland were playing in the World Cup, if I remember rightly. He gets portrayed as this dour Scotsman because he doesn't enjoy the interviews and media side. I like that, it means when he says something it's genuine and not just following the same old cliches for good PR. Coming back and playing a few games to entertain the crowd shows that he cares about the fans and loves the game, so does his reactions to losing Wimbledon and winning it the following year. I don't particularly like tennis but he's someone I like to cheer on. The other side of the coin is you get sportsmen like Tom Daley reeling off the same old empty platitudes that his PR training has scripted him with.
Quite enjoyed Murray's joke when interviewed after the exhibition game. He apologised to the crowd for tiring out Federer in their game before. Can you imagine Ronaldo taking the piss out of himself like that.
