For all fans of obscure information, the god is 'Cliff'.

What has this 'Cliff' got to do with nuts and bolts, and thingmajigs?

Remove the word 'god' from any Google searches. It does mislead, I've found. By 'god' I meant that he was the ultimate lover of obscure knowledge. There is no religious aspect to this.

<ok>

The actor who plays Cliff Claven in Cheers - John Ratzenberger - is co-founder of Nuts, Bolts and Thingamajigs - an educational foundation which aims to get kids interested in careers in manufacturing through 'tinkering'. Something we could do with here as well...

That's it, BB. <applause>

Ratzenberger, on finding out that the average age of US engineers was in its mid-fifties and fearing for the future of American engineering industry, set up the foundation you correctly identified.

All yours. <ok>

Cheers Dave. Which person am I describing ?
He is affectionately known as the father of his nation and was it's first ruler. He also has a football club named directly after him which has won national honours.
