Given the last "bid" was from a firm that technically didn't exist, I'm not going to be expecting anything to come from this.

The part that gets me is they want to take over, yet retain Levy - which sounds remarkably like Levy's own continual misunderstanding of the DoF position.

So the club gets sold but Levy is still chairman?

That certainly would not be progress.

They'll want profits first and foremost...that's what they'll consider progress

New American owners AND Levy still in charge. Now that should make everyone happy.

  9. We'd be a less-effective version of 'Pool.

I'd be forced to start a "Spurs Watch" thread, and wum this board, merely to prevent claims that I was being hypercritical.

David Lammy claims that the prospective investors have spoken to him personally. There's two things that spring to mind about these claims:
1.) Why would the prospective buyers of Spurs talk to Tottenham's MP? Did Abramovich speak with Michael Portillo before taking over Chelsea?
2.) He said this in an interview with that highly regarded proponent of factual and accurate reporting, Talkballs

But the only way to make decent profits out of a football club is to be very successful so that would be progress
