It certainly has to be one of the matches of the season so far, bearing in mind the quality of the opposition we competed with them and for spells, particularly in the first half, outplayed them. Loftus Road under the lights has an atmosphere no other PL ground comes near...
The Swedish commentator (who is normally awful) said that this game was "a propaganda-match for the EPL." That sums up the match perfectly.
Not sure if this has already been posted, but for those worried about the girl who was hit with the ball; http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29974175 Glad to see she left with some nice souvenirs from her day. A nice gesture from both Yaya Toure and our club. Was anyone sitting nearby, and if so, was she okay?
A father's natural instinct...protect your own face. Would have loved to be a fly on the wall when that little girl got home and explained to Mum how she went to the football with Dad, and got a neck injury.
I found it amazing that at the ripe old age of five, she had already been a season ticket holder for two years:- Yaya Toure has given a signed shirt to a five-year-old girl who was struck by one of his wayward shots in Manchester City's 2-2 draw at QPR on Saturday. The City midfielder was off target with his effort midway through the first half and Chloe Power, a QPR season ticket holder for two years, was hit in the face in her seat behind the goal.
To be fair - I don't think you'll need any help, even if you've had a bit of luck with the refs in your games. I wasn't too upset to see Liverpool's penalty shouts ignored as they've been getting easy decisions for 40 years at Anfield. Stamford Bridge 2015 is now what Anfield was in the 80s and Old Trafford in the 90s and 00s for those types of decisions. But even if you dont get another one all season, you'll win the league at a canter as no other team look consistent enough save for the Saints.
I bet Southampton fans literally can not believe how their seasons going given the summer exits. However they play both mancs and Arsenal 3 games in a row I believe early December which will be the test of how far they can go.
Saints have been a revelation, we are still the only side to score at their place this season, hard to believe I know as we've only scored twice away..... Anyway last season in the Championship a lot of people thought that Burnley would fall away after their good start, due to who they were, size of squad etc, but they just kept on going and thoroughly deserved promotion.......Saints may have the odd blip but they will still be around top 6 come May time....
Especially if the big sides continue to under perform. Still think top 4 will eventually be us, City, Arsenal, United (in no particular order) but Saints can certainly crash top 6.
See that the club had her back today, looks like she had a free run of the clubshop! @QPRFC: SPARK MAKES CHLOE'S DAY: Young fan hit by @MCFC's @YayaToure's shot returns to Loftus Road to receive special gifts youtu.be/2yCF88LETd4
