Dont get jobs because they are NOT the best option available.

Currently being discussed on sunday supplement. Every word is a pile of **** as they are basically saying they deserve to be there based on skin colour.

No they dont, nobody does.

The morons on my screen are basically saying football is racist because theres not enough black managers. Kind of like saying the us sprint team is racist as theres no white sprinters...

Garbage.
 
We have got this racist card all wrong. I work with all nationalities all over the UK, and have no problem with any race, provided they can do their job properly. What I do object to is ethnics getting jobs purely on the basis of being non white, just so the management dont get branded racist

What is even more sickening is police using the excuse of being branded racist to save giving protection all those young girls who have been abused in Rotherham and Manchester. Racism has nothing to do with it, its a serious crime for which the victims need protection.

Seems to me the police are sending out the message that if your middle England white, your open for prosecution for any crime, but if your of an ethic background, feel free to do anything.
 
Agree. Race, colour, religion or creed doesn't come into it. If they're good enough, they'll get the job.

I think you've got this thing wrong. It is not just about managers but also coaches and other back room staff.

I am not one to defend the FA but consider this: every top team (premiership and championship) nowadays has at least a couple of black players, some a lot more. So there are many black ( and other non-white) players nowadays in top flight English football - some say 25-30%. A couple of decades ago there were very very few such players. We even remember the RS fans discouraging their club from recruiting john Barnes and then abusing him when they did. The likes of Cyril Regis , Anderson PAul ince had to blaze a trail. The same could be argued for coaches and managers. In 20 years time, people will say "blimey in the 00s and 10s a huge proportion of the players were black/non white yet there were only 2 prominent (not even premiership) clubs with black managers. Something needed to be done then." <ok>

PS: comparing the opportunity to be considered for a job as coach or manager in football to the sprinting ability of black athletes is one of the most moronic thing I've ever come across on this issue. Sorry I had to say that.

Are sprinters selected on ability? If so then tge same should apply to football managers.

The only moronic thing here is anyone who believes there should be a quota of any creed or colour regardless of tge occupation.
 
This is pathetic, the UK is 82% white, so it follows that most positions are going to be occupied by White people.
 
What needs to be done then smith. Employ black managers and coaches because they are black and not because of ability? Sounds like positive discrimination to me.
 
Oh and smith. Please explain whats wrong with comparing sprinters and managers. Both should only be picked on ability.

Unless of course your going to say 'but black people are naturally better sprinters' which i hope you dont...

I think the suggestion Is they don't get given the opportunity to show whether they're good enough.

They shouldn't be given a job just because they are black though of course.

And how does that happen?
Normally managers get big jobs because they perform above expectations in smaller jobs and people take the gamble on whether they can take the step up.
Like SAF going from Aberdeen to United, Jose from Porto to Chelsea etc.

What black managers are there in the league that could make the step up?
Do you think a club like United would see a black manager kicking ass at Spurs or Everton and go..."Nah....he's good, but he's black. How about Souness?"

Fergie started at tge bottom, mourinho did, wenger, redknapp etc. They all worked hard to achieve what they have.


Black players who want to move into management should aim lower and earn the right like almost everyone else had too. Thats how they can show their worth.

Lets say ince wasnt a joke and actually did well. He would be in a better job now and highly rated. Instead nobody rates him and whichever club takes a punt on him does so knowing the huge risk they take.

Ince thinks he proved himself at blackpool though <laugh>
 
What both of you seem to miss is that there are no black managers starting at the bottom. That IS the point.

Whether it's because they are good enough or because of institutionalised racisms I don't know but THAT is the complaint. The complaint isn't that there aren't enough black managers sauntering straight into to top jobs, like Ince more or less did.

Ex black players are claiming that they get no encouragement to go into coaching or management by clubs or the FA, how do you know whether they are wrong? I don't but there's no smoke without fire.

I have to say though, I agree that you shouldn't be given a job just because of colour.
 
There were 5 at the start of last season but all lost their jobs. Not good enough.

Anyway i dont know the percentage of black people in England but i would guess 5 out of 92 isnt too far off a fair representation of the country. The fact they lost their jobs isnt down to skin colour but ability. The clubs deemed them not good enough.

I wonder how many black managers would be acceptable.

Surely you would look at the percentage of black footballers to white footballers in the English game as most managers have played at some level. In which case we'd be looking at about 25-30%.

I don't believe ppl should be employed bcos of skin colour but surely you wouldn't argue against ensuring there was some monitoring of the application process to ensure they weren't getting discriminated against??? And as Chief said I'm also talking only about the lower leagues.
 
Ok I'm going to throw another grenade in. Personally I couldn't give a fck about the plight of blacks in football while these "equal rights" groups only seem to focus on them, while there is clear discrimination against British Asian lads who I've come across in trials with real talent that never get a look in simply bcos they're not 6 foot tall and built like a s**t brick house the racial perceptions they're not good enough. Until so-called Black and a Ethnic Minority groups in football address that, they come across as hypocrites and prejudiced themselves.

I've always wondered this as well tbh.
My school football teams was laden with Bangladeshis and Pakistanis, yet you see next to no muslims in the PL.
No Iqbal Alis, no Allaudin Hussains, no Oachidur Rahmans.
