From speaking to fans off the forum musty I think most do as well. Always exceptions of course. <ok>

Mosty from people who know jack ****. <laugh>

Our greatest manager ever was undoubtedly the Great Dane.

Jan Molby!!

Well my my that's a change in attitude. Normally anyone mentions the L word you're over it like a fly on ****. <laugh>

So in the spirit of debate here's my two cents:

Laudrup was one of the best managers this Club had ever had. Why?

1: His signings. All on the cheap and most (though not all) delivered in spades.

2: We won the League Cup. Who'd have thought? The Swans back in Europe. What an adventure. Despite some knuckle-dragging morons wanting to airbrush this fact out of our history because you-know-who was in charge, they can't and it's fact so suck it up.

3: Best League position in the Prem (9th I think?). Wow. Again, who'd have thought?

I can understand why he was sacked as we were drifting but no matter what anyone says that doesn't erase a wonderful season. The disrespect shown buy some posters here who aren't fit to tie the man's shoe laces makes me want to vomit. Well, you did ask. <laugh>

So at the moment it's Laudrup by a country mile. But in fairness to Monk he's made a decent start, is learning (slowly) and we may actually achieve even more with him in time. Who knows? I read one poster saying "we've achieved so much under Monk". I almost burst out laughing. Monk has achieved nothing, nada, zip. If we get 9th and win a cup come end of season he's level pegging but he hasn't yet. If he does more than that he can claim the title.

I couldn't have put it better myself.

"knuckle dragging morons". You have a sweet way with words,Dragon, but I can't imagine who you are referring to. <laugh>

I dont think anyone had any issues with ML first season. There were plenty of issues surrounding his second season. If yiu compare Monk and ML over his first season then id say ML, last seasobs ML though and id pick monks.
But Dragon, just because there are those who will disagree with you, no need to be arrogant and belittling. It doesn't suit you.

"But Dragon, just because there are those who will disagree with you, no need to be arrogant and belittling"

Oh come on. Speaking the truth (not opinion - the truth) isn't arrogance. The question was Monk or Laudrup wasn't it? Not this season or that season and not with provisos. I answered the poster with reasoned argument as to why it must be Laudrup, at least at the moment, whilst acknowledging that Monk may prove to be better in time.

I didn't say that those who chose Monk were "knuckledragging morons". I stated that I believe there are some "knuckledragging morons" who are airbrushing Laudrup out of our history by pretending his achievements never happened. I actually think I'm being kind and stand by that description. Anyone who tries to deny factual, unequivocal history is a knuckledragging moron, surely? It's like saying that there isn't a moon or a sun, or white clouds. As Lib rightly points out I didn't name anyone and I didn't insult anyone directly and I didn't even say they were posters here.

But isn't is a shame you're not so quick to criticise those who openly call specific posters "wally", "plonker" or "prick". Usually, nothing is done until your PM'd and then we're accused of "crying to the mods".

You wanted this thread to stay up despite my reservations, presumably in the interests of debate - so let's debate and cut out the stupid warnings because of your sensitivities about tone rather than content that breaches the rules.

<laugh> What insults and to whom, exactly?

I actually find the mods' hypocrisy and double standards 'astounding'. Pointless bleating about it. You leave posts up containing vile name calling that flagrantly breach the rules but you throw out warnings when nobody has been insulted. Got to laugh really.

Now back on track - Monk or Laudrup? No provisos.

Don't worry Valley, there are a few idiots around these days, you can't please them all.

laudrup = useless from the minute he st foot in the club.
monk = saviour of the club repairing the mess laudrup made in a short space of time...<ok>

Laudrup = Cup win, Europe and 9th in the Prem.
Monk = Nothing yet.

At least this one is factually correct whichever side of the debate you're on.

Laudrup was a great player but Martinez, Sousa and Rodgers were all better managers and Monk has made a decent start.
