Wiggins out, so who plays in his place? If Fox plays I hope Bob has told him already that he is in, it would help his confidence, which has probably gone down a bit this season. If Bob doesn't rate him enough, the alternatives are Coquelin, Solly or Jacko. If Fox doesn't convince then Holmes-Dennis will soon be back from Oxford. With THD and Edwards coming through, Fox really has to take this chance.
Agreed... I wonder if Peeters may go for Coquelin starting away @ Reading on Saturday yet if that were to happen it would be sending a huge negative message to Morgan Fox. Like you say if it were my choice I'd keep faith with Fox... If he then fails in the coming weeks then maybe recall Tarieq Holmes-Dennis (Who may even be recalled now anyway)
I thought Fox looked very promising towards the end of last season, but am a bit worried he may stall if he is a bit part part utility squad player this season from the bench. Give him a run if Wiggins is out. I'd sooner have Chris Powell now at Left Back than Jacko.
Fox was good last year, but this year is another story, he looks shocking but based on what he did last year, give him the chance and hope it doesn't repeat the Fulham performance
I don't know whether Fox should play or not. Bob sees how he is doing in training. If he looks fit and bright, then play him. But I do know that if he isn't picked in this situation, he never will be, and there is no point having him on the payroll. Same applies to Jack Munns. He has done as much as he can to break into the squad. We already had Cousins, Buyens and Jackson who should be contesting two CM spots. Now we have Coquelin. So Munns won't get a look in. He turns 21 this month. Time to move elsewhere, presumably initially on loan.
Confirmed on the OS that Wiggins is out for 6 weeks. I expect Fox will play on saturday and Bob will take it from there. It could be a difficult game for him. His main problem is that he's a bit slow on the turn, causing him to sit back from the player he's marking to avoid getting skinned. On the other hand he hits a good curling cross. Depends who he's up against.
Having more of a think, if Wiggins is ruled out for several weeks then I think we have to dip in to the loan market. Every Arsenal fan I've spoken to says the Coq isn't an option there, I certainly don't want to see Solly sacrificed to the left and Fox to me, just puts me a tad at unease. He would have been a better option than Evina last season, but this season we have a chance to move on up. I just think he will be left behind within the next 18 months.
Not sure why you think the management would be keen to borrow a left-back for six weeks when they have refused to borrow the striker we have been lacking all season. At least we have Fox, and Holmes-Dennis who is playing league football every week and could be recalled. Maybe they won't be good enough, but at least we will learn something about them. As I wrote before, if Fox is not good enough to come in for a few weeks, what is the point of having him on the payroll? He is already over 21, not a schoolkid like Ahearn-Grant.
Not saying they are keen, saying its what I would do. Especially now it's been confirmed he's out for 6 weeks! Dan seabourne or Gary borrowdale - let's flip a coin.
Here is a first, I agree with Eddie, wonders will never cease. I would like to see Holmes- Dennis given a chance, but I don't know if he can be recalled from his loan. Morgan Fox is a steady player but to me he is a converted Centre Half.
We could always bring on Gary Borrowdale for the corners, like an American kicker. Dan Seabourne-a centre-back, not very good at full-back with us.
