In an attempt to provide balance on the forum, I would suggest there are a few here with black tinted glasses that also need to be surgically removed. (P.S. I don't include you in that group as you are the epitomy of balance and fairness )
A valid point but my comparisons for our performances are based on being at the game or tbh for most away games watching a live stream, and comparisons with performances of the past. The tv point is a good one but works both ways. In the games against Everton we were on the back foot for virtually the entire game, our passing was awful and, save a handful of instances, we were pretty poor. The managers said it, the players said it, the pundits said it, those at the game acknowledge it (brave face - we defended well). However, when I saw highlights from MotD it came across as an even game - it wasn't. The same has happened in reverse countless times (I'm using our most recent game as an example) so anyone who has been privileged to see the Swans live for many years will know TV coverage is very false.
Fair points well made Bob, but you MUST accept that people are not hypocrites simply because their views differ to yours, that's very hypocritical of you to say that Bob
A "bonus" win today means we are 5 points better off in relation to the comparative fixtures last season: Man Utd 1-2 Swansea (+3) Swansea 1-0 Burnley (Same) * Swansea 3-0 West Brom (+3) Chelsea 4-2 Swansea (Same) Swansea 0-1 Southampton (Same) Sunderland 0-0 Swansea (-2) Swansea 2-2 Newcastle (-2) Stoke 2-1 Swansea (-1) Swansea 2-0 Leicester (Same)** Everton 0-0 Swansea (+1) Swansea 2 Arsenal 1 (+3) *Replaced Fulham ** Replaced Norwich
My assessment of Monk is that Jenkins has pulled off another winner again, man we are one hell of a managerial production line.......................
7/10 for the reasons outlined above, both pro and anti, he seems to be learning quickly so I have no idea who is giving him the advice
you have shouted Monk Out every game musty so how do you get 7/10....that score says he is an acceptable manager .. no manager is worth 9 or 10 out of 10 as they all lose games...
I don't remember you saying you thought we be top 6 by now. But happy to know that you thought that. Well done.
A 5 point improvement over 11 games would mean a 17 point improvement over the season. That is pretty awesome, especially for a rookie manager. Look how much money the likes of Liverpool, Everton, Man U, Arsenal, etc spend on players and managers. We are above them all and only 3 points behind Man C. This is a fantastic season. Room for improvement of course, and I think we will improve. But so far, can't really fault our start.
You expect too much and will never be happy. You expect us to be 2nd or 3rd in he Premier League? One day maybe, but top 5 is pretty awesome for most of us.
What the ???? are you on about? Where do you get the 2nd or 3rd bull from? If Expecting the team to try playing football is too much then we may as well give up IMO. I'm more than happy with a quality performance of football like we had on Saturday - the first full game this season where we have reached the quality of play enjoyed for much of the last 5 seasons. Top 5 means nothing if we are playing like Stoke of old. IMO.
