The openworld games are definitely my favourite, I like the exploring element to them just being able to find your way around in your own time etc.

I don't like them all mind, there's loads of **** ones out there, such as Deadrising 3 for example, that was awful. I liked Far Cry 1 & 2, hated 3, might buy 4.

Red Dead was cool though, it was always going to be a success cos of Rockstar, they'll be working on another one I reckon.

Didn't like dead rising, didn't like dead island, wasn't keen on red dead, enjoyed far cry 2, not so much 3. I like open world in 1st person mode more than 3rd.

Two was my favourite, the map was brilliant and the story was as well.

Tried playing 3 about 5 times but it was just so boring, a lot of people rate it mind.

There was always something better to play when 3 was out as well.

I think Red Dead was cool as ****, like Al says it was more the surprise than anything as cowboy games are usually a bit gay.

Thing is, when your standards are set by Bethesda you find most other games falling short of the mark.

I think Far cry 2 was trickier than 3 which adds to it's appeal. Fact is far cry 3 got on my tits, i've got better games where I don't have hunt a ****ing pig constantly.

Red dead was an awesome game but the only down side was having to ride a horse for 20 minutes just to get to your next destination.

Having a 1st person option would have completely transformed the game for me fella. Don't mind the theme, I remember playing Gun on the ps2 thinking this is ****, but there's something in the setting. If only someone can do it better, and Red dead is much much better, but not 1st person.

Does the new GTA have a 1st person option?

What is needed is a couple of 1st person open world WW1 & WW2 games. CoD in an open world setting, so many wars can be covered in a series. I'd jizz myself with delight.

Haha yeah I was thinking about that, killing a few pigs, finding your way to a lake and having to swim across it without getting eaten by a shark... couldn't figure out if I was playing Far Cry or Zoo Tycoon.

    Yeah that's openworld mate!

No mate, all 3rd person, but I love that game.

I was saying to Nads yeah, a massive WW2 game different regiments, different story modes, nothing linear or arena just total warzone, it would be immense.

Trouble is, the COD gimps are like Newcastle fans, they'll just turn up and pay for it, no matter how **** it is.

Yeah man you can set it across france and germany. Then new maps in the expansion packs like the Russian front, home front and even north africa.

It would be bang on. Call of Duty fans don't demand enough. the games are ridiculously short and quite frankly a rip off at their release price.

Yes bud but the best open world games like Fallout you don't feel like you are just meandering along for half an hour as there is stuff to do en route...the only way of keeping entertained on Red Dead was to jump off the horse every now and then and skin a rabbit. Some areas were better as you would get randomly attacked by wolves or bears while riding but the countryside parts were dull.

I'd buy that mate, bollocks to tiny campaigns and arena online games, just go all out and have a massive openworld conflict. If ES Online can be a success eventually I can see games like these happening for sure.

Yeah the storyline made the game what it was, there were a few bandits scattered around but they got repetitive. Like I said to Bri though, once Bethesda sets the bar there's not a lot others can do with openworld games. GTA 5 being the stand out exception.
