Went to the game last night and very pleased I did so. We weren't fantastic, but we deserved the 3 points. Very impressed with the resolve we showed coming back after another OG. I've been very critical of Fletcher in the past, but last night he was much better, scoring two goals helps, but he was getting involved in the game and having a larger influence. The header was pure class. Needs to find himself some rhythm, if he does he's our best bet for goals A while back Smug questioned Wickhams hunger/attitude, I had no clue what he was on about. But yesterday, on several occasions it was apparent to me he just didn't fancy it, he's a bit of a bottle job. I believe he has great potential, but he needs to screw his head on, otherwise he's no use. Why is Mavrias always on the bench, but never given any minutes? Obviously Gus rates him, would love to see him in action. Pantillimon looked pretty solid, a few iffy moments, but generally very good at collecting high balls due to his sheer height, would keep with him next week. PVA is turning out to be a very important player, getting better defensively each game. Had Zaha in his back pocket for the period he was on the pitch Some of our fans are miserable ****ing bastards. One bloke behind me didn't get behind the team at all, spent the 90 minutes moaning.
Also Jedinak should have been sent off about 20 mins before, how Dowd managed to miss what was possibly the most obvious foul of the game is remarkable
A good fighting performance all round and hopefully that was needed to put our recent woes behind us.
Good post agree with a lot of your points. Wickham isn't half soft for his size and seems to bottle quite a few challenges when you watch him closely, seems more concerned with his hair than scoring goals at the minute. Thought Buckley was pretty poor too overall, Mavrias must be tearing his hair out that those two play on the wings ahead oh him. PVA turning out to be a bargain. Excellent cross for the first goal and was doing a job on Zaha until he got injured.
Well according to Warnock, Palace were absolutely amazing so the fact we beat them 3-1 while putting in an average performance must mean that we are in fact by far the greatest team the world has ever seen. I'd like to see a return for Pantillimon in the next game. While he was in goal we won, whereas with Mannone we have shipped 10 goals in 2 games. It's an oversimplification to say it was his fault but it certainly means that Pantyliner deserves his place. I'm not in a cold nervous sweat for every set piece when he's in net because of his height. Also that save he made, if that was in a cup final in the last minute and we won 1-0 then we'd be referring to it for years.
I have said so many times that refs should book keepers for wasting time as soon as they do it. Last night Dowd obliged... Last time I remember him refereeing us I'm sure we were losing 1-0 and the keeper wasted time from 52 minutes... He booked him on 93! Jedinaks foul on Gomez was worse than Cattermoles on Chamakh... And we never even got a free kick! Not complaining about Catts yellow but interesting to see the "one rule for one"

Warnock having a go at us for putting the ball out for a throw after they'd attacked us for 30 seconds with a man lying on the floor... Prick.... Hate Warnock like. Couldn't happen to a nicer bloke. As for the penalty... Did anyone notice that only Fraizer Campbell seemed to claim for it. Palace players didn't seem to think it was. Blatant with replays but not so obvious at full speed. I also reckon... For him saying how well they played... They probably could've played till now without scoring themselves even with our lads tucked up at home!! They were woeful in creating IMO
Totally agree. I thought he was ok until he did his bit on TalkSport. Listening to the ****e he came out with each morning he was on, I now can't stand the bloke, and the fact that they didn't get 2 possible penalties is just a bonus. Hope his head explodes with the injustice of it.
