Worst game EVER for Routledge - seriously. And that was the worst half of the season for us by a country mile. Absolutely awful.
Monk has to bring on Dyer half time, and Emnes must replace Siggy, and pray we don't do the second half blues!............
Yes, severely under the cosh that half, but at least we've held firm and come in at 0-0. Not sure how we're going to keep more possession second half.
Seeing the penalty shout from the central camera it looked like the ball hit the player's leg but not his arm. Shocking first half - once again our mid field has been nullified, Bony only has to touch a player and it's a foul, Everton in the ref's ear as they leave the pitch.
Montero will never be effective from the start as long as Taylor is left back. Commentators' also picking up on it.
Better watch that handball again bob..we dont need any chsnges right away , we just need to spread out and CONCENTRATE !!
Spot on - a very high percentage of our tackles are being given as fouls. Bony's yellow was ridiculous.
Thats harsh Bob, he is struggling with two players, after all Coleman is one of the best right backs and he is up there all the time, only so much Taylor can do, hence the commentators saying that Montero is having to help cover. Commentators also picked up a few times that Taylor was covering 2 players.
From the side angle it showed it was definitely handled but from central (refs) angle it wasn't as clear.
Yep, but he's covering 2 because he's on a player who is quite central and leaves tons of space wide - he then has 2 players to contend with which I think is a Monk strategy. But Taylor offers nothing going forward and Montero is picking up the ball near his own penalty area ... who is supposed to be covering between full back and winger on that left side? Why is Fernandez making so many tackles, blocks and covers on the left touch line?
At this rate he may as well pack it in now. He'll be retired before he "gets back". How many games should he be granted as a charity before we recognize that we need better.
More excuses! Yes it was a nasty incident and he's done well to come back at all. but he's been back over a sea on played 25 games and it is his decision making and positioning that is much of the problem not speed or tackling.
