So if we'd have spent a load more money then we could've won the title? Alternatively we could've done a Portsmouth or a QPR.

"I am telling you what my players told me and I didn't see that myself but I don't think that Pires will lie and say something that didn't happen." - Zico

Yeah, he's known for his honesty is Pires: “I did not dive and I am not a cheat. That is not the way I play.”
“Pires once dived against Portsmouth." - Arsene Wenger. Took him eight years to admit it, though.

Best news of the season so far.
The highly intelligent Campbell is protesting against the Mansion tax .
He says he will have to pay it twice , his very rich wife has a castle in Northumberland .
Threatening to join the Tories and take the black vote with him.
Pomposity and over importance , mind of an 8 year old ,must be his middle name.

Damn racist tax man. I bet the white England captains don't have to pay it <grr>

Steffen Freund is not often mentioned on this forum these days, so an update for you on our ex first team coach.

Now referred to as our "International Technical Coordinator", Steffen is currently trekking the Great Wall of China, to raise funds for the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation life-changing projects.

Nice to hear that he's doing some good. The club probably could've done with publicising that a bit more for him, though.

Yes, they should. Also should have made more effort on the Walter Tull memorial. Not covering ourselves with glory off the pitch either these days.

Why should there be equality in prize money between men and women in sport?

Professional sport is driven by market forces. More money can be handed out to participants when more money is paid in. In most sports, the men's game is more popular, attracts greater audiences and consequently more money is invested. It's nothing to do with discrimination. In other areas of popular culture - fashion, music etc, women are the leading exponents and get paid more than their male counterparts.

I was considering posting about that Lidls, but I couldn't see there being much disagreement.
The part that was really stupid was where they compared darts and snooker to their female equivalents.
Firstly, they're not ****ing sports. Secondly, the main tournaments allow both genders to enter, but the women aren't good enough to get there, so they have an extra group for them.

I'm all for equality in pretty much everything, but this isn't about equal pay for an equivalent amount of work.
Men are better at a lot of sports and people prefer to watch them because of it. When that's not the case, then the pay is much closer.
Money men don't care about morals or society, they simply follow what's going to make the most profit.

A good night so far for some of our ex players. Simon Dawkins puts Derby 3-2 head after they were 2-0 down, and Wasir Kasim and Nathan Byrne both score for Swindon.
