I think the shell shocked look on Rodgers' face after the game was the realisation that it wasn't him that got Liverpool to second last season, it was Suarez, and what's left behind is average propped up by more average signings. He knows he's ****ed.
To be fair when he took over we were miles away from the thought of entertaining Real Madrid at Anfield - we were pretty much bum ****ed. So I don't see the relevance of the quote as a wum? If you asked me 2 years ago if we'd be playing Real Madrid in the CL I would have laughed at you and said not a ****ing chance!!
We're in the CL still and without playing well one win away from 3rd. I'm not complaining No question our form will improve, so happy days.
Why do you think your form will improve? You're on a downwards curve, what have you seen that suggests you'll get better? From what I've seen, at the start of the season teams feared you a bit as they thought they were playing the Liverpool of last season but recently you've been considered fair game. Even the worst team in the league should have spanked you. I admire your eternal optimism, you thought Balotelli was a great signing, but your manager's haunted expression after yesterday's game said it all. You're ****ed.
The Goons seem to be pretty wound up that you got a deserved point. I'm not sure why, perhaps they have delusions about challenging Chelsea for the title
You actually need the four teams above you to drop points for that to happen, City would need a heavy loss for you to overhaul their goal difference too
They want City and Chelsea to keep winning so they can continue their internal war about how bad Wenger is
So where exactly do you see anybody wound up? Or are you still being a bitter little prick because we banned you?
Simple. Because we can't get any worse I am an optimist, and why wouldn't I be? Too many knee jerkers around for my liking, once our dressing room gets some cohesion rather than resembling a cattle market things will translate onto the pitch. I did think Balotelli was a good signing, not ashamed to admit it, but also not ashamed to eat humble pie on that one. I said a while back that this would happen if so many players were bought in at once. I suggested bringing in 2-3 players per window, and introducing them into the club properly. Rather than suddenly buying 8+ players, which has clearly ****ed our team spirit as no-one knows each other - hence the cattle market comment. But I'm confident Rodgers will find a solution, and believe we're just going through a bad patch of form - whilst at the same time some how managing to keep in and about the race for top 4. Also there is no question for me that Sturridge will add a bit of pace to our attacks - which should bring out the best in players like Sterling, Coutinho etc. I know it's hindsight - but if Sturridge had the chances Balotelli has had he'd be well on his way to double figures already imo. Something needs to change, and Rodgers must know that more than a few fans on a football forum
