You are wrong to say in your post that the boot boys were middle class, load of codswallop, most came from working class families also you state Chelsea were the first to have these thugs, where is your proof oh wait.... you dont have any, so load of codswallop.

Where did this underground, middle-class, subculture of depravity come from and why did it manifest itself in the environs of Chelsea FC more so than anywhere else in the uk.

Another load of codswallop without foundation and devoid of any evidence. It is as likely you could have changed the name Chelsea on your post and chose any of 30-40 teams in England and a few in Scotland and the post would have seemed credible to the uneducated among us. So in summary no deflection here just a complete rejection of the derogatory insinuations that you are trying to reflect upon the club that i love and have supported for 49 years man and boy. Now go back to your caravan and ponies you pikey scum.

Look Hamzas, people who were dragged up whether on halting sites, sink estates or on the streets themselves, with little or nothing in the way of education or opportunity, at least have a reason as to why they ended up as violent delinquents bringing nothing but misery to ordinary decent people. But for white middle-class cocksuckers from leafy suburbs who had every convenience afforded them by society, to become little more than a pack of roving beasts looking for easy prey to disfigure and sodomize of a Saturday afternoon, is unconscionable. What's even more shameful is the attempt by a contemporary revisionist such as yourself (rather disturbingly but not wholly unsurprisingly using the name of a leader of an Islamic death cult) trying to justify the unjustifiable in such a blase and unsavory manner.

Shame on you Sir. Shame on you

Chelsea fans were shunned by their families so they took their hatred out on civilised society!

The sad truth is that there were (and are) some horrible ****ers involved at most clubs in the late 60s and early 70s...chelsea became notorious in the late 70s and 80s due the racist scum that attached to them (and many others).

It is a stain on spurs that violence in 1974 got us banned from Europe and directly led to the great Bill Nicholson resigning as our manager.

It were only fans by the way...the police were a ****ing disgrace too.

So a few people liked a bundle in the 80s, so what. Leave the outrage (and Wumming) to the Daily Mail and Mary Whitehouse

"such as yourself (rather disturbingly but not wholly unsurprisingly using the name of a leader of an Islamic death cult)............... when did I try and justify violence you prick, all I said was it was not invented by Chelsea fans.
You sir are a complete and utter knob, the name I use has no reference to an Islamic death cult, read it again and weep motherfucker cos you is way off the mark. now go and crawl back into the hole you came from and mind your knuckles on the doorstep.

We know what kind of "bundle" you lads liked back then; A meat and two veg variety. There was a reason why the Headhunters never had a bird about the place and it wasn't because they wouldn't have any decent A&BC Chewing Gum cards to swap :emoticon-0120-doh:

Look EC, its time you lads got real and faced up to the fact that there was some serious perverted sh*t going on among the CFC fanbase at the time, stuff that would make George Michael look glacially virginal in contrast. Sexual deviancy went hand in hand with violent outbursts and the result was a deterioration of the modern game on a scale hitherto not seen. Why you and Osama neverbeenLaiden above won't accept that reflects something disturbing that still exists deep in the bowels of that fanbase even to this day.

Time to take stock fellas. Acknowledge past injustices and then we can all move on <ok>

I've often pondered this point on and off for a number of years but without putting my thoughts out there for public debate. I can't think of anywhere better to do this than on a Chelsea supporters Forum.

From the late 19th Century, for around 100 years, football supporters in England went to follow their Club for the love of the game. They mixed well with opposing fans, behaved very well and generally there wasn't any large scale trouble. However, as the 1970's rolled around a new breed of "fan" came out of the woodwork and almost destroyed the English game at that time. These people had no real interest in football, just a desire for mayhem and wanton destruction. Funnily enough, a number of people I've spoken to down the years who went to football prior to and during that time all pretty much agreed that it was Chelsea fans who kicked it all off. Not only that but this Chelsea mob were distinct from subsequent hooligan elements from around the Country in that they weren't your average disadvantaged chavs from sink estates but were largely made up of the middle and even professional classes from the wealthy suburbs of Chelsea.

What I want to know is, what made these successful, educated people turn into a pack of blood-lusting savages when Saturdays would roll around?

What was it about Chelsea in particular, as opposed to other Clubs, that seemed to produce an endless supply of knob-heads who really should have known better?

When people from other affluent parts of the Country were out in foreign fields or on the rundown streets of the nation's cities, engaging in altruistic activity and helping alleviate some of the suffering of the deprived and impoverished, why was the Chelsea toff getting pissed up and kicking people's heads in in his steel-capped docs and terrifying men, women and children who went for a family day out to watch some sport?

Where did this underground, middle-class, subculture of depravity come from and why did it manifest itself in the environs of Chelsea FC more so than anywhere else in the UK?

Were any of you one of these people and if so what motivated you to participate in such nefarious behaviour?

Like I said, its a social curiosity that I've mulled over from time to time and I'd finally like to get a definitive answer to the question.

Much obliged

Another insufferable Pikey!

Swords- you have made your case in fine prose-well done! I have been a Chelsea fan since 1959! I remember being in crowds over 60,000 quite regularly and in spite of the large numbers, Stamford Bridge was a very peaceful , enjoyable place to visit! Sometime in the late 60's what is now known as the Shed End became enlivened due to the effervescent input into terrace chanting by a guy called Mick Greenaway! He became a Chelsea legend and led Chelsea chanting at every game home and away( even at Loftus Road) He was the inspiration behind the West End musical " Zigger Zagger". His activities were copied around the country and sometimes those followers of his were not backwards in standing up to those who were violent against him! Google him and you will discover why he stands at No7 on the all time list of Chelsea legends( and he never kicked a ball for us).

Now go back to your caravan and ponies you pikey scum.

Gentlemen, your collective disdain for the nomadic people of southeast England has not gone unnoticed by me. You clearly do not appreciate the rich cultural heritage of this unique community. The travelling people contribute greatly to society, introducing leisurely pastimes such as bare knuckle boxing, dog fighting, underground gambling, drug taking, alcoholism, robbery, extortion, incest, arms dealing and general all round debauchery to the communities which are lucky enough to have them living in their vicinity.

Is this yet another undesirable Chelsea trait? To describe various groups of people in disparaging, almost racist terms?

Is there no end to your vulgarity???

You missed tarmac laying <whistle>

We're catching you boys just at the right time. A couple of decent performances and a much needed win last night means we'll be well up for you.

One of the fiercest derbies in British football is soon to be played out and I reckon you kants are shi*ting your pants :emoticon-0169-dance

I think you said that in 1970 too (FA Cup 4-2) the good news was they found Rodney Marsh 37 years later on Im a celebrity when Ron eventually released him from his pocket. Don't think Charlie Hungerford Austin is up to bothering our back four too much but forget about the score and enjoy your final. :)

Charlie Hungerford is looking as hungry as a Wolf judging by last night. And he's just waiting to take a bite out of yis

Hows Loic "sick note" Remy doing? Heard the truck load of cotton wool he has to be wrapped in is being delivered today

Remy is a good player but he's held together with spit and glue. Providing his fit for once, the Dunney Monster will give him one haymaker in the first two minutes and send back to the treatment table for another month. :)

Ossie, it'd be advisable for you and your pals to go and do saaink else this Saturday because your boys are in for one hell of a bashing
