Called it at the beginning of the season and was told by Cini65 that I didn't have a clue about Koeman's managerial record. But Koeman is proving that he's a top quality manager and the person that Spurs probably should have sought to be their manager. So far it's looking like losing Pochettino has been a blessing in disguise for Southampton as Koeman is a superior manager.
Not exactly easy to have positive thinking with how bad we have been these 2 months now is it? Positive thinking requires positives from the team, which there's barely any at the moment.
I like the fact you always go on the attack straight after we win. We were never going to play well today, it was just a matter of whether or not we could get 3 points And nice to get a clean sheet after our comedy defending recently, although it sounds like Sunderland didn't put p much of a fight
Who am I attacking, I'm just responding to a point that was made, and I made this point what over 40 minutes after our games ended so I'm hardly 'straight to attack' what are you Mourinho in disguise now getting all pissed when I respond to a point addressed to me? Or forgive me, I know what I should say, we won, we're great, we proved we're fantastic, now we will march on to win the league, happy?
Consistently winning, then ill be happy, one win doesn't mean **** all if you don't build it on it, when we build on it and go somewhere, then get back to me, but you never do that, you always like to look at one game and then act like YAYYYYY WE'RE BACK instead of looking at the bigger picture.
It's the truth, you're jumping on me for responding to a point about being positive, and I answered it. When we become consistent and win games in a row, including winning a big one like the one against United in a months time, then Ill start being more positive, a piss poor performance win against a team that just lost 8-0 and you want me to be jumping up and down? Get real, shows how it's you lot just clutching for anything right now.
Btw a perfect example is Aston Villa, we had a great win, but what did we do afterwards? Right, we didn't win until....today, so forgive me for keeping my positivity in check, I look at the big picture, come back to me in a months time if we keep this form and beat Burnley, Swansea, and United.
There 's no point moaning about the team any more, we've got these players at least until the summer. I'm just glad we won a game I thought we'd drop points in
Untrue of course. I've never said that we're back after winning one game and if you read my comments, I always take the bigger picture into account, I'd argue much wider than you do also. I agree that we need to build on this win to start saying things have improved, I guess it's the fact that you don't seem to see any positives even after we've won and seem happier when fans are fighting amongst themselves that is more of a concern.
We have to take today as a platform to build on. We've got Walcott coming back, Arteta back in the team and Giroud and Ozil to come back at later dates. We all know that we're a confidence team and a win today should enable us to build. But I agree that we can't really start saying that we've improved until we get some consistency back.
You didn't have a clue about his managerial ability in the slightest. A broken clock is right twice a day. And he has not proven anything by a long way yet... Certainly not after a dozen games in charge.
Apart from the evidence I showed you, which of course was the basis of my saying he was a good manager, which in turn is being demonstrated in the premier league, as I thought it might. Other than that, I don't have a clue
You didn't show any evidence, apart from the knowledge he was an amazing ex player and current manager of feyenoord. He has a mediocre managerial record. Your initial praise of him was borne out of simply trying to WUM spurs fans by saying they'd gone for the wrong manager. Then you realised you had to try and find some facts to back up your statement. It's like predicting that you'll roll fifty 6's on a dice, then proclaiming yourself a genius when you roll a few of them.
Anyway, mildly irrelevant arguing to the thread at hand. Peace. A guy asked me today if we had the choice of one single player in the summer to buy who would it have been (not allowing Ronaldo and Messi). I said Mascherano. Who would everyone else go for?
