The Rodgers Out Thread (well sort of)

At this moment in time I believe that our problems lay firmly at the managers feet, the squad imo is good and only needs strengthening in 1 or 2 positions.

Rodgers has shown an inability to get the best out of these players this season and a stubbornness that is becoming a real problem, big decisions are needed and Rodgers is simply not making them.

We as a club are known to be patient with our managers (Roy being an exception not a rule) and I would still like to see Rodgers at the helm of a successful era with the club and I'm certainly not saying now is the time for him to go but at this point unless he starts turning things around I simply don't see our owners putting up with the mediocrity that is being served up.

Balotelli is not good enough, Johnson is not good enough, Gerrard should be used correctly and these are points that every fan seems to agree on (yes there are more to agrue but these are the main points that everyone agrees on).

If the right manager became available at this point I would jump at the chance of replacing Rodgers I think our owners may be of the same opinion.

This is no wum, but watch that post-match interview and tell me how he doesn't sound like Moyes for us last season. He sounds like a man with no answers or idea of what to do.

Having said that, you have to give him the benefit of the doubt after last season. Or is it that I just want #rodgersin

johnson will be gone in summer, until then not a lot we can do unless someone has a funny 5 mins in jan and takes him off our hands.

we need a recognized quality forward, the fact we have 3 players who should be playing in the championship is a worry, they all certainly finish like it.

rival fan made a good point on another thread about see where we are xmas time then time to moan, but its not looking promising.

i dont give a **** that ballo looked more up for it today than he usually does, that's the least i expect from a liverpool player, esp the amount they get paid.

just worried brendan is shoving all the wrong players out the door, and not buying good enough. that may change in jan hopefully if we have money to spend.

Probably just as shocked as we are about our complete collapse. It happened to Rafa too, remember? Although Rafa was much more experienced manager. It was clear Balotelli was a panic buy, he near enough admitted that when he signed him. But it sounded like no one else would join us

It is a bit of a knee jerk reaction yes and like I said I hope he can turn it around so you have to take the whole post as my thoughts other than just that part. I do believe we are in trouble at the moment and that Rodgers seems to lack any idea as to how he can turn this season around, it's still early days as far as the season goes but I have a feeling we'll still be frustrated come Christmas and January will be panic buy time and it'll all be too late by then anyway.

I agree he may well pull us out of this slump and I hope he does but I fear the worst at the moment.

Keep the faith and things will get better. Westham would have chosen to sack allardyce but let him work things out.

This. Losing our main man was always going to be hard. Last season everything just clicked, repeating that was always going to be incredibely difficult, especially without Sturridge too.

I'd rather look at the progression we've made over the last few years, than compare it to the previous season. I guess threads like this just show how far we've come.

There's no getting away from the fact we look poor, but we're still in and around our rivals for top 4. Have CL group qualification in our own hands and obviously still in both cups. Far, far too early to want a mangerial change. Rodgers has done us proud, all this stick is ridiculous - when he took the job it was always going to be a long term project. Last season came too early, hence reations like this.

I'm allowed to think aloud, as I've said now twice read the whole post it's not RODGERS OUT! It's looking at the issues and wondering what happens next. I even say that I hope he turns it around and is the manager for a successful era, I'm not so sure the owners will have the patience that may be required.

When Sturridge has played this season we've looked good going forward. We beat Southampton & Spurs with him and lost to City at the Etihad (a game we lost WITH Suarez last season).

He's clearly disappointed, but if he's giving off that shell-shocked vibe in front of the camera, that's going to breed inconfidence in the dressing room. I'd say you were being a bit knee-jerk BUT there is some justification for questioning his judgement based on his summer buys. You make the top 4, the next stage (with United stumbling) is to cement that spot. You HAD to go all out and buy a couple of marquee signings. Or at the very least, gone in for players like Garay and/or Song. For that reason, Rodgers should be held accountable at the end of the season.

I saw many on here last season speaking about how scoring loads was better than winning 1-0 and I said at the time, it's a flawed theory. Even now, many of you think Sturridge is the answer. He's part of it, but if the excuse is "we're missing sturridge" then some of you are being naive.

That's simply not good enough whichever way you cut it.

His sound bites are starting to sound like the clichéd lines he was spouting at the start of his reign. He got lucky with the Suarez / Sturridge partnership.
