That's more like it! Nervy, tense and won more by graft than skill. The Southampton of old still lives! Except we didn't concede.
We're top of the league! (well not quite, but think Chelsea will be 10+ points ahead of whoever finishes 2nd so as good as top)
Excellent first half, poor second but another three points in the end. I'm starting to get a little concerned at our tendency to switch off and let teams come on to us when we're one or two ahead - QPR stands out as another game where we let this happen and it's something we need to cut out.
Uff, this was a nervous second half. Three points in the bag and a welcome hangover from that magnificent win against Sunderland. Pelle was superb today, he was a class apart. He hasn't set a wrong foot whole of the game. Except when shooting, though.
Fantastic play in the first half, a little sloppy in the second. Positives - On another day we'd have scored 3 in the first half and put the game to bed. Our attacking play looks wonderfully fluid. Defence looks great. Midfield of Morgs and Cork/Vic looks strong. Pelle and Tadic. Mane's direct running Concerns - Concentration drop off in the second half (tiredness?) I still harbour doubts about Forster as a commanding presence.
Pretty good game against a Stoke team that was looking to steal one. Probably should have had another goal, but in the end we got the job done. Stoke never really threatened enough to get a goal.
Well played Saints fans, well deserved 3 pts. We did OK secondu half but not enough to get anything from the game. See you all on Wednesday night.
Hell yeah we are! Now let's beat them again on Weds and march on towards Wembley. Not sure I fear any team bar Chelsea
