So far Soldado has cost less, it was an initial £13m plus a further 13m if certain targets and incentives are met..... I doubt he has triggered any of these yet. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...to-Soldados-loan-move-to-Atletico-Madrid.html
Why would that be more fair? Liverpool get more penalties than anyone and Soldado's normally not on the pitch on the rare occasion that we get one. Balotelli's actually an excellent penalty taker, as he's utterly arrogant and can't conceive that he might miss, so he doesn't suffer from nerves. Shame that Gerrard has to grab any glory available, so he doesn't get the opportunity, eh? For the record, the only time that he's ever missed one was this: Yep, that was Pepe "Not As Good As Mignolet" Reina between the sticks.
Soldado has two goals this year (both in Cup games) and a PL assist. But he's only started one PL game. It's kind of funny, actually. He's started five games, I think, and has two goals and an assist, and there's an overwhelming sentiment among Spurs fans that he's doing horribly.
The bottom, since he's scored a grand total of one goal in the Prem from open play in a year and a quarter. I want to disagree with you about the quality of our strikers. I really do. Kane and Soldado's scoring in the cups have been pretty good. I think both Ade and Soldado have worked reasonably well with the other attackers. But strikers on PL teams need to score goals in the PL, and ours have got one so far. I don't really see why they won't start scoring, as Ade and Kane did last year. But that doesn't mean they will. Who would you rather have, Soldado or Balotelli?
I'd love nothing more than for our "strikers" to prove that they are worthy of that title, I really do. I'd love nothing more than to be proved wrong in my assessments of Solda-doh, Kane, and Ade-bye-bye - as I wanted to be proved wrong about Crouch, Defoe, and Pav. But I fear, once again, that I am going to be proved right. Why is it that, since Berbatov and Bent, we have been unable to find any striker who can actually score goals? I am at a loss. PS: No wumming, please, lads.
Suarez was sold for a king's ransom and replaced with the much cheaper Balotelli. Great piece of business that, wasn't it? Er.... What price swapping a goal a game for a goal a season? (Not that kind of season - I meant spring, summer, autumn, winter )
they were around,Remy was kicking his heels until the chavs signed him, thats just one,of a host that other clubs signed
I'm really looking forward to watching this game, lads. It promises an absolute goal-fest. Not that I am expecting 'Pool to score any goals, mind. I think if 'Pool can hold Real to 0-4, Rodgers can count himself proud.
My respect to the Mousers for keeping it to 3-0. It cannot have been easy tonight playing 10 vs 11 for 80 odd mins away to Madrid.
Well, I think I called that fairly well. I was right about 'Pool not scoring. They were quite inept, really. One can only imagine the trouncing they are going to suffer in Spain! Hopefully, Mousers will have woken up to the fact that they simply are no where good enough to mix it with Europe's elite. Most of us, of course, knew that 'Pool's inclusion among the CL places was a complete waste. Still, at least they can get on with playing in the Europa - although they will have to moderate their expectations in that competition, too, because I think they'll find they struggle against the half-decent sides. Anyway, well done to Brendan for keeping the scoreline respectable.
Over on the mouser board, they're tearing Balotelli a new one and rightly so. Why they thought he was any where near a replacement for Suarez is beyond me? Totally difference type of player and mentality. Both have a screw loose or two I suppose so I guess that's where the similarity lies.
