Has this not occurred to anyone else, or have there been two friendlies that Taarabt was involved in?

I'm not arguing his skills, I'm arguing his very apparent lack of professionalism which has now been very well documented. Would you put up with this in your workplace? Even if you did and turned a blind eye it would still install a resentment factor with fellow staff members.

    Just saying...

Neil never had it in for Adel, he still mentioned in his book what Adel was like.

Right, no more from me (thank God I here you all say) on this matter.

We will just have to agree to disagree on a subject that in my opinion has seen thread after thread and is just so boring now.

    Come on U RRRRsss!

    Peace!

I don't recall the quote but assume it's the friendly from Thursday before last. The inconsistency with message doesn't surprise me though.

I also don't buy into the disruptive element part when both Caulker and Austin have praised his potential worth some two months apart.

I am admittedly becoming more senile by the day, but I'm sure Redknapp said that Taarabt was the best player in that friendly.

Can't believe people still sticking up for him. I have for three years but enough is enough.

Support your club not a player who hasn't given a rats arse about us since we got promoted in 2011. It makes me sick to the stomach reading all the excuses for him on here, it's a ****ing disgrace imo.

I'm not sticking up for him and have repeatedly stated that he's his own worst enemy.

I am questioning Redknapp's version of things though.

I understand that. But he's the third manager in a row to say things along those lines.

Nothing in that interview seemed premeditated from Redknapp, it was said in the heat of the moment, to me that sound believable.

This. Im wondering some fans blind faith for him even nobody cant show me more than five matches in the premier league where Taarabt has actually played well. I dont like arry and i want him to leave us but what an earth could be his motivations to talk bullshit about Taarabt??? I dont buy that for a second.

I think he was exaggerating probably out of frustration that someone with such talent shows such little effort or enthusiasm - Harry made it clear he wants those that are gonna put a shift in!
Hopefully means Fer to be dropped as he looked a lazy git yesterday hardly ever tracking back.

    ADEL TAARABT HITS BACK:

Adel Taarabt has responded to Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp's claims that he was 'three stones overweight'

The midfielder, who has made just three appearances this season, slammed Redknapp, saying he spends most of the time in his office.

The Morrocan says QPR have no game plan and don't work as a team.

He claims QPR staff Glenn Hoddle and Les Ferdinand love him, but 67-year-old Redknapp 'does not listen' to them.

At AC Milan, the 25-year-old said he kept Kaka and Robinho out the team.

Adel Taarabt's explosive interview with Neil Ashton yielded plenty of memorable lines.
Everything from AC Milan, the midfielder's shirt number and training under manager Harry Redknapp was discussed just hours after the 67-year-old claimed Taarabt was 'three stones overweight'.
Here's the pick of the bunch...

QPR midfielder Taarabt hits back at manager Redknapp's claim that he is 'three stones overweight'

On Harry Redknapp: ‘He spends most of the time in his office but when he gets off the phone he comes down to watch for five or 10 minutes — he never takes a session' ... ‘That’s when he said he had it in mind to start me against Liverpool.’

On 'that' reserve game against Wolves: ‘I played in that reserve game for 90 minutes and if he didn’t think I was running he could have taken me off. Maybe I didn’t perform like I could because it was a reserve team game and I was protecting myself.'
On fitness: 'Maybe he expects me to make more tackles. I am not this type of player. I can only get fitness playing Premier League. You can train six or seven hours, but you won’t be fit.’

On training under Redknapp: ‘The training sessions aren’t the same standard as Milan, or what I would expect under another manager. They are not as intense, the players aren’t as motivated. It is the same as we used to do at Tottenham years ago.
On QPR: 'The problem is we don’t have any plan in the game, we don’t know how to press as a team. It’s not about just running around, you need to play with your brain.'
On Glenn Hoddle: ‘[He] loves me, but I don’t know if Harry listens to him.'

On Les Ferdinand: ‘I spoke with Les Ferdinand and he told me “what a player you are — you should be in the team every time. I followed you at Milan and you were fantastic”.
‘Les doesn’t speak to us in training, but he watches us and then goes to watch the kids as well. He knows me from my days at Tottenham so we have a good relationship.’

On AC Milan: ‘When I was playing at Milan, sometimes Kaka or Robinho weren’t getting in the team. Then I come to QPR, and that’s not to disrespect my team-mates because I have a good relationship with them, but I was surprised I was not in the squad.'

On his shirt number: ‘When I came back from Milan, the QPR kitman said “you are no more No 10”. I never wanted to be No 10 but the fans asked the chairman for Adel to be 10 not 7 because of the legend Stan Bowles — they wanted me to have the 10 shirt.
‘They said they had never seen an exciting player like this for 20 or 25 years, so I said to Tony Fernandes I will take it. Then this summer I was told I would be 27 so I said “OK, no problem”. I said nothing.’
On his weight: ‘My heaviest weight at Milan was 86kg (13st 8lb), my lightest 84kg — now I’m 85kg. It’s not true to say I’m not fit. He tried to give an excuse.'

I don't remember his last 2 Managers at our Club tell so many lies about him, and not surprisingly they both got a lot more out of him for us than Harry. Same as Milan did this year. Adel is no doubt hard to handle, but Harry doesn't handle him at all. It is his behaviour that is the disgrace, lying about him, failing to use a player that could win us points, and lowering his value to the Club when the windows opens again.

I think Taarabt is entitled to respond to Redknapp's ridiculous and unprofessional outburst.

We could do without having a Manager who is a lying g*t, and clearly doesn't want to handle one of our best players.
