Or, he wanted Wisdom to get first team football in the Prem this year and couldn't garuntee that with Flanno & Johnson ahead of him. Unfortunately, both since got injured which means Manquillo (who was probably brought in as cover and to have a look at) has had to play a lot more than first thought.
