I read somewhere that on average, an outfield player has the ball at his feet for less than a total of 3 minutes during a game. It's what the players do in the other 87 minutes that can decide a result. In other words, a team performance based on the work and support ethic, and seems a million miles away from Ole's apparent haphazard approach to each game. It should take us back to the basics that got us out of this division two years ago. If we can get results in the bag through this route rather than the "entertainment factor" we all crave, would it be a problem for anyone? On the other hand, does it mean that grinding out results is the only way given Slade's stated preferance for setting up as a 4-4-2? Going to be very interesting following the players off the ball rather than just when they've got it at their feet.
To many to mention i think, but the dross that OGS brought in would be where i would start, Eikrem, burgstaller, et al.
Out of the squad taxi for Cala, Burgstaller, Eikrem, Kim, Guerra, Maynard, Velakonja & Harris. Call back Mason to replace Guerra and Mason and land another striker. Get in another winger & left back. Don't bother with McNaughton. T-Katherine may be worth calling back at this level.
Maynard was on the bench Saturday, I'd be very surprised to see him gone before the summer. Haven't seen enough of Guerra to write him off yet. I wont defend any of the others except (get ready Sparks ) KIMBO!! Being serious the guy was a bit of a star at Championship level last time around, I find it hard to believe he couldn't do a job, for all his promise is Daehli currently a better option than Kim currently based on what we've seen in a City shirt?
Cheers Stevo Kimbo did do well two years back when coming in for Whitts, but he's become something of a smaller Bothroyd - plenty of skill but goes over too easily and spends too much of his time on his arse. Just trust Russ to sort it out and point us in the right direction!!! please log in to view this image
Tan has even asked Slade to chose the new strip colour for next year.......... please log in to view this image
