Some good stories there, seems nature is a recurring theme throughout, even with Disco's ****ing... it's natural mate, crack on/off.

Hearing then seeing a Peregrine in full stoop and taking a pigeon in flight near Blencathra.
Just happened to be in the right place at right time, the noise from the stoop was what alerted us, I didn't realise how loud this was. The falcon flew off towards Mosedale crags where it may have been nesting and the other pigeon (they were presumably a pair) just tailed along and followed which was curious.

I have one day, that made me smile more than any other..

It's kind of a milatary thing, but the enjoyment was by others, more so..

It was a fun day, a day some hairy arsed RFA lads will never forget.

All sounds kinda gay, but it was nothing like that...

Guess it will be a day those lads still talk about..

I didn;t really want to post this, been reading this thread, it's a topper.

No doubt i'll get called names etc, but here goes.

Many years ago, i was in a group called comacchio..(hence the name) it was all o do with nuclear safety, guarding, transport.

We were doing a mock run from Portsmouth up to Scotland...On a RFA ship.

Days had passed, and it was kinda boring..So the powers that be, had a natter, a we came to a stand still in the Irish Sea.Where all the bags of litter and junk were brought up on deck, and hoyed into the sea to bob about.

As this was a trail run ,we had everything, sa80, m16, ak47, uzi, ingrams, shotguns, mp5, the lot.lot's of ammo.

the lads from the ship came on deck, and had a blast, as we let these fella's loose in the middle of the sea, with all this gear. i've never seen smiles like it, grown men acting like kids, wanting a go of this and that. I will never forget it. pure enjoyment for them...it still sticks with me.

Sounds class mate apart form throwing rubbish in the sea, that's naughty! I got deployed to an intel post just me on my own with a bunch of SF, small job about 16 days in North Africa. Some of the kit they had was amazing, I volunteered to go and thought it would be boring as **** but it was fantastic.

Anything goes on threads created by me pal, you should know that by now!

I thought everybody would go with their kids/wedding days etc so had to put that bit in the title, it's usually everybody's answer to the best thing they've ever done.

I hung around with a lad when I was a nipper, aged around 4 through to 12 ish, me and him were inseparable we had loads of 'adventures' but probably they were **** all really when I think about it. He died last year I was gutted, but it made me remember all the great times we had as kids, care free and the worst that could happen was just 'grounded', so everything was just total carnage.
