We have been asked to post up a change in site rules by the supermods, due to certain posts causing untold work for them in trying to prevent the site being excluded from google searches and losing advertising revenue.
I can't see that these actually affect us.
⢠Mods need to remove any porn / nudity posts & links from their boards
⢠We will ask that mods carry out this request on their individual boards.
⢠If there are lots â we can permanently delete whole threads if asked
⢠Failure to do so, then we will
⢠If mods do not wish to carry out these duties, they need to resign & new mods will need to be appointed
⢠Any members that decide they wish to break the new forum rules will be banned for a minimum of 72 hours, increasing with each ban.
⢠Members that decide they want to throw abuse in the direction of the administration team will also be removed
⢠Mods please put a warning notice on your boards about the new changes â including the ban warning
According to Mick: Google keeps punishing us in search rankings, the ads that pay the server bills keep getting suspended, a mobile phone network consortium has threatened to block us on 3 of the biggest mobile networks (unless users specifically opt in to porn) and the British Board of Film Classification have been sending threatening emails about content saying they are going to rate us an adult site.
However, due to the recent server switch and software upgrades he can now offer us a password protected board in addition to our main board. I've not read far enough into the message to see exactly what this entails and what the restrictions would be, but I assume that this is on the lines of what Cerny got all huffy about a while back.
Personally it is of no interest to me and I don't see what this would offer that isn't available either in General Chat or elsewhere on the internet, but I dare say that some of you may feel differently.
