For me Roger Hunt must be up there, probably because he was in the Liverpool side I first started watching as a youngster. He was iconic at the time and without him Liverpool may have stayed in div 2 a lot longer! Him and Dalglish encapsulate for me what Liverpool are all about. Gerrard is maybe the modern day version but I baulk at the Hello magazine covers etc that the modern day footballer gets himself into so while I appreciate everything he has done and is still doing for the club, no he isn't my greatest ever. Just as a side note look at the Hall of Fame for all the really great players, who are in there for being great players and not the spurious 'legend' title we like to bestow nowadays.
