I had thought that the reason Lafferty had limited game time recently was because he picked up a little niggle?

I agree he practically has to start on Saturday based on his performances this week, but let's not forget he also played well and basically created the goal against Rotherham. He is also a really useful outlet away from home when we are more likely to be under pressure.

I prefer him out wide to up front because I don't want to risk us playing a hoofball game which Fulham will probably be better at, but I'd like to see him on the left, which is his preferred wing position with Redmon on the right.

I'd play him on the left too Rob.

Although out away form has been great so i'm sure it'll be tempting to keep the 4-4-2 Hoolahan on the left.

    I'd like to see:

    Ruddy

    Whittaker Martin Turner Olsson

    Tettey Johnson

    Redmond Hoolahan Lafferty

    Jerome

With Grabban, Howson, Hooper and Vadis on the bench to influence things.

That's pretty much how I'd like to see us line up as well <ok>

I also agree with that line-up, although it's a toss up between Martin and Whittaker at RB (both had a great game for Scotland). Lafferty played on the left for Palermo and is excellent at tracking back as well. He also seems to prefer running at defenders rather than playing the target man.

he is no wide player. give him a go up front against fulham. watched grabban and jerome miss some great chances in the rotherhame game, although i would not like to get on either of their backs after the way they have both started, but we have some depth to the squad, lets use it. he has earned a start

Lafferty is wasted out wide. Play him up front or not at all. On Saturday I'd put him alongside Jerome or just behind, in the Hoolahan position but a bit further up. His form for NI proves that he's an asset if used correctly; we're yet to see the best of him.

Tend to agree with those suggesting we start Kyle up front.

This from Martin O'Neil: "He has all the attributes you need in a good centre forward,".
"Kyle has been fantastic in the three games. He's facing international defenders who just can't handle him."

    Why not?
