It was beautifully taken with a classy flick past the keeper. He deserves a start against Fulham, IMO.
He definitely deserves a start, spot on Rick. Even when he was receiving criticism for some of his errors, we were playing our best football. His touch is freakish for someone so big.
I watched the whole game against the Faroe Islanders and Lafferty missed about 4 or 5 great chances but sill played well.
Lafferty on the scoresheet again tonight, and Wes was heavily involved in RoI's equaliser tonight. 5Live are waxing lyrical about Rusty's performance at CB too.
Good results all around. NI's best start ever with 3 wins in 3 matches and Lafferty has 3 goals in those. Definitely deserves a start now. Also watched a lot of the U21 development squad 3-1 win over Spurs tonight. They dominated the game with some very classy play and Cameron King was MotM with two excellent goals. Carlton Morris has returned from Oxford and also looked to be a handful. Hooper did well enough, but was outshone by the others, including McGrandles and Toffolo who had an excellent game at LB. Elliot Bennett and Rudd were the other over-age players and both did well.
Scottish mate of mine reckons Russ was motm for them tonight. Good to see so many players playing well, here's hoping there was no injuries we haven't heard about yet
Sometimes you go into and come out of an International break with dread - losing momentum, players getting fatigued or injured - just the disruption of it all... Not this time. I can't believe there won't be a real buzz around Colney over the next few days as players get back from those duties. Redmond getting into the Euro Finals. Jacob getting involved in a great tournament for the 20's. Martin and Whittaker taking on some of the best strikers around and coming out of it with their heads held high. Tettey and Olssen getting important results in Scandinavia. Wes running the show in his first game then making all the difference in his bit-part cameo against the World Champions. But surely it's Lafferty who must be on Cloud 9. Kyle's had it a bit stop start with us. First of all everyone seemed to make him into a club legend inside just a couple of games, then he was transformed into a liability who seemingly lost his head and the plot. Let's hope he gets back to Norfolk and keeps the positive momentum going. A player seemingly capable of being something really special. Can he make it happen more often than not? A bit gutted it's Fulham up next. Let's hope we break this hoodoo they have over us at long last. We owe them a thrashing or two. OTBC
He came back from the previous International break and I guess he was feeling almost 'invincible' giving away silly fouls and NA took him off at half time, as he was in danger of getting sent off. I've just seen his goal against Greece on BBC Breakfast and what a FANTASTIC solo effort it was. Let's hope he has learnt from his mistakes of last time and can really be an asset to the team, as we need to be getting more of our attempts on goal actually on target!!!!
Surely 3 goals in 3 straight internationals warrants Kyle a start for City soon. Here's his latest goal against Greece: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgoQ8I79hUY
For me Lafs has to be started up front. Jerome and Grabban haven't been at it lately and Lafs is wasted out wide. The main reason people felt he wasn't being played centrally was because he isn't a natural finisher but 3 goals in 3 games for NI suggests other wise. Add to that he holds the ball up beautifully, has a great touch and seems to have a good eye for a pass and I just can't understand why he is being used on the Left wing!
