Evening all, it has been a lovely summers day here, with blue skies and warm. Spent the afternoon planting bulbs in the woodland area I have. Put a few in last year and they did so well I wanted more, so bought up different varieties when over in the UK. Maybe the picture of what I hope to get overcame reason as it took me hours to plant them all.

The post lady brought me a bill for the rubbish collection. Included was a leaflet inviting me to apply for a free live chicken and to attend a workshop where I could make a suitable timber run and home for the bird. Seems as if it is part of an EU drive to cut down on landfill by feeding any food waste to the feathered friend. It did point out that I could expect 150 eggs a year, but as it would be unfair to keep just the one, I would be likely to have 300. Not sure that we could manage that many. I quite like the idea, but there is too much wildlife around here that might fancy a tasty chicken meal.

No outdoor jobs today. :( Grey and showers, but still very mild. Greenhouse vent that opens when temperature reaches 16°C was opening at 8.00 am.

Spent a couple of hours in the garden this morning - sorting out the gardening prep for a move. I feel a bit like Watford - we are onto our fourth house in 18 months - with the second and third being "interim" i.e. rental. We finally found a house to buy down here in Selsey and it is ours on Tuesday and the removal people are coming on Thursday. All we have to do now is find a buyer for our place back in Wales - anyone know anybody who wants a lovely Welsh smallholding :)

I am actually after a small Welshholding, Leo. Sorry.

evening all. i don't want to blow my own trumpet, but i'm going to! lol Today i did a half marathon :). With my running buddy we decided to step up from last year and do 13 miles instead of 10. We did the Royal Parks Foundation half, the sun was shining, the route was gorgeous and Big Ben chimed 10am just as we ran past...i'm chuffed to bits, if not a little achy! There, trumpet blown. Resuming normal service ;)

have a good week everyone!

Well done H. <applause> You must be a shadow of your former self with all that starving and now all that running.

Hope the move goes well Leo. Don't leave your computer behind!

We had snow yesterday. The road in the town are good.

I have a new office and do not like the new location. I was in a long thin place at one end now my seat is in the middle of a big square with many people.
