Just taken a video / some pictures of a tornado from our bedroom window - out over the sea near Selsey

I remember the one involving Patrick Moore Dave. Could not see if it touched ground - or rather sea - from here but it was not a big one and only lasted 10 minutes or so. It was not a 5 on tornado scales - more like a 0.1 :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Afternoon all,

Spent yesterday perched on top of a ladder doing serious stone cutting work. Lovely sunny day with a clear view across a valley to a small town, yet 20 kms away a friend was getting soaked by constant heavy rain. Micro climates are quite common around here because of the hilly nature, so maybe that is why the weather forecasts are frequently very wrong.

Enjoy the weekend all. Pulque on the bar - get involved!

Upload the vid if you can, one of my most vivid memories is walking into town, hand in hand with my sis, and well - Mr Fish's forecast error made us both fly for a good ten meters...I must have been 6ish...

Morning folks. Spooky, Leo, because I dreamed of a tornado last night, and haven't heard any news for days so it can't have been put in my mind that way.

I'm home now after two days in respite care. Had to go cos we're having big building alterations done to suit a cripple, and they were blocking off the top of the stairs for a while.
NEVER AGAIN!!! Dear God, never again! Dreadful food, no intelligent company and no wi-fi FFS.
PS I'm allowed to call myself a cripple, as are my best friends

Welcome home GG - great nostalgia thread you have started. Hope building alterations end up being good for you.

You have now reminded me of a favourite album track by Neil Young

"Cripple Creek Ferry"

Hey, hey
Cripple Creek ferry
Butting through
the overhanging trees
Make way
for the Cripple Creek ferry
The waters going down
it's a mighty tight squeeze.

I would if I knew how (not that it is very good quality)

All alone the captain stands
Hasn't heard from his deckhands
The gambler tips his hat and walks towards the door.
It's the second half of the cruise
And you know he hates to lose!

careful - you'll get Yorkie on here - I think he is a big Neil Young fan
