Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with a visiting goalkeeper being racially abused by a supporter at a Bristol Rovers game. It took place at the Memorial Stadium on Tuesday nightâs Bristol Rovers vs Dartford Vanarama Conference game. The visiting clubâs goalkeeper Jason Brown was repeatedly racially abused during the second half. He reported the matter to the referee and club stewards were alerted and ejected a man from the stadium. Police have now reviewed CCTV footage and have identified a man they would like to speak to. They are continuing to work closely with the club and the Football Association on this inquiry. If you know the man in the image, or have any information about this incident, contact the football liaison team at Bridewell police station on the 24-hour Enquiry Centre on 101. http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Police...n-racial/story-23089914-detail/story.html?123 please log in to view this image
Strange this, Dave Harper (BRFC Safety Officer) said "We don't know the mans name, but he is well known to the club" That confused me, if he's well known, surely we as a club can track him down. Mind you, it still baffles me why the stewards let him go in the first place, they ejected him, surely with a serious accusation being made we should at least have taken his name and address, and i think we should have held him for Police to question too.
Alton towers can capture your face perfectly at 80mph yet CCTV that's important struggle to get a picture of a fan stood still!
What you have to do sometimes with these pixellated photos is to sort of screw your eyes up a little and the image becomes or hopefully becomes a little more clearer ! Pretty poor effort though I have to agree.
