They are and it is as long as Costa and Fabregas are in harness. Without them, I'm not so sure. And they don't have much cover at centre half. A lot can change if they have a few injuries or players suffer loss of form or fatigue given all their commitments over the season. Nothing won in the first week of October.
Was anyone else expecting Mourinho to lead by example and take a theatrical dive when Wenger shoved him? He certainly looked like he was thinking about it.
Yes, I thought his natural instincts would have kicked in. I am really disappointed that he didn't go for it, going down, hips thrust forward, arms flung backwards, a small leap off the ground with both feet thrown slightly behind, finished off with three or four rolls across the technical area, holding his face in mock pain - classic Chav diving technique. This was The Smug One's opportunity to show the world how a Master dives, and he blew it!
Just been over on the Arsenal board, reading their Chav v Arsenal match thread, as well as a little gem-thread called "What Excuses For Arsenal Now?" Do yourselves a favour and give them a read. Pure comedy gold!
Handbags! Mourinho is a WUM. And Whinger must be one of the easiest people ever to wind-up. He should do what some other managers do, ignore him.
...and quite an effective one, at times. I think Whinger was still smarting from the "specialist in failure" jibe.
It's justified isn't it? 12-0 to Maureen now methinks. Maureen must have a better record against Whinger than any other manager in the world. Like taking candy from a baby.
Remember when Wenger first arrived in England and he was known as Le Professeur, due to his calm and studious demeanour? He's gradually lost that over the years and I think that his sideline dramatics is actually detrimental to his team. Players are like anyone else and if you're being lead by a bloke that's ranting, raving and generally throwing a wobbly, then it's hard to hold your concentration and do your job. He no longer explains what people need to be doing during games, especially ones like that, preferring to perform for the cameras, instead. Mourinho's well aware of it and he uses it to great effect.
Wonder how much charidee money we would have to offer to get Jose to say "No WUMming please" in the next post-match interview after Chelsky beat the Goons.
Or, to say, at the very start of an interview, "All wumming aside...." before launching into a wum par resistance.
Mind games. It's terrible. And it's not fair - not so far as Wenger is concerned, cos he's useless at them.
Wenger is not good at all at the banter. When I heard he had whined about losing due to "financial power" I had to check whether Chelsky had signed a forward I was completely unaware of.
