If this was 2015 the new rule of stopping the race to clear would have made this event avoidable. Sad that this may bring that fact to light

Too many ifs and if nots. But the fact that the race went ahead when the helicopter couldn't take off is entirely on the FIA's shoulders.

Worrying scenes today that you hope were to never come again. I hope that Jules will be okay and pull through- thoughts entirely with him today.

FIA will get it in the neck. Todt or Whiting in trouble as a result of this maybe.

No, they'll have to review again when to bring out a safety car.

It will end up being like American racing where any stranded car brings out a safety car.

I thought about that too. Whether he may not have seen the flags in time. I'ts obvious though that aquaplaning may have played a major part in this.

It's definitely an aquaplaning issue. Not really sure what could be done to prevent it - the exact same problem occurred at Nurburgring 2007 because it's so difficult to judge when to jump off the intermediates and onto extreme wets, and if you don't have a crystal ball you end up completely at the mercy of the rain.

Only thing I can think of for certain is that the drainage at that corner might need to be looked at since due to the banking there was a lot of retained water.

Also, while the statement is not ideal, at least our worst fears are unconfirmed. No words for how relieved I felt when I saw that.

Oh dear, not a good day at all.

Whilst he could rival Rene Arnoux for his blocking tactics when being lapped, would crash more often than not (irony he survived everyone of his crashes uninjured, on his day he could be the fastest driver on the grid. Can actually consider himself unlucky not to have won a grand prix.

Matured enough that by the end of his career was actually used by Jordan and Sauber as a reliable stand-in when Irvine & Wendlinger couldn't race!

    RIP Andrea

Pretty good overtake by Hamilton on Rosberg I thought, although totally irrelevant considering the later events. Motor racing is such a cruel sport, I've followed F1 for over 50 years and witnessed similar and worse situations many, many times, even attended events where drivers have died, so why do we continue to support such gladiatorial events.

Makes me feel like, !!! do you know, I just don't know how to to put it into words and explain my emotion ffs.

Obviously the race is insignificant now, but just talking about the actual race...

Jenson Button was having a magnificent race (not often i say that about him). Showed once again why he is rated so highly in tricky conditions, perfect judgment of tyres and his pace was so good at most points, he was as quick (and slightly quicker than the Mercs) and on a par with the Red Bulls in the most part. Driver of the day IMO. Red bull drivers not far away from that either, both had very good races.

Today is one of those sad days where results are irrelevant, the bigger picture is more important. Keep fighting Jules
