True, the GC people don't seem to come to the Sunderland/ Newcastle boards much though.
*Could be something for the mods to look into and think about changing.
I stepped onto the Newcastle board to post a serious positive article asking about their young keeper who has been picked for the U20 world cup squad, as below.

I think you will also find that Sunderland fans rarely go on the Newcastle board in comparison to the Newcastle fans who constantly post on here.
Jonny I have posted on the NUFC board trying to discuss topics only to receive abuse from your lot, I found it funny the things they said made me laugh but on the other hand its complete filth one of the worst I had was from SECRET INGREDIENTS IN MIKE'S PIES, so much so now I dont even bother posting there whats the point.
Thankfully im not one of the rep junkies, but fair enough. Been a lot of Sunderland fans on the past few days to be fair and some good debate as well actually, with very few Newcastle/ Sunderland fans being twats about it.
I just think its idiotic that any Newcastle fan would be giving someone abuse without leaving a name or good reason especially when talking about something positive as Skylarker did. Pathetic.
I think Newcastle fans get worse then what Sunderland fans get on each others boards, with the likes of Bart, Roger and Shameless. Both teams have their pricks. No need for the abuse most of the time either.
Sorry Jonny I have to disagree I think Sunderland fans get nothing but abuse on the Newcastle board thats my experience hense the fact I wont post there anymore. Nearly all of your guys come here only to WUM, there are a few who come looking for a good debate, which I found is impossible to have on your board without being called a, rapist,inbred **** the list could go on but I just cant be bothered.
It's funny that no one goes onto our board, yet there are so many offensive tags at the bottom of threads, and we receive abusive comments and rep for quotes on articles on our board that you lot never read???

It's a shame that you have been made to feel that way. I have felt exactly the same about the Sunderland board. So do we just stop going on each others boards and let the keyboard warriors win?
A reason why there may seem to be more Newcastle fans on your board that Sunderland fans on ours could be due to the fact that there seems to be more Newcastle members on this site. I suspect that the percentage of idiots is probably about the same for each team. Sometimes it seems that you have more internet hardmen on here than decent posters, but that could be due to the fact that when they take over a thread, the more sensible members move onto another thread.
I understand your point Simon the way I see it is, if I go on any board trying to debate a topic and in return receive abuse, the obvious thing to do is just not bother posting anymore on that board but out of interest I would go back and have a look if there is anything interesting to read there but I would contribute to a thread. Maybe on both boards we should be more tolerant of each other.

I totally agree, that is why I stopped posting on here for a while.
I said to Syd a few months ago how intollerant and tribal people were on these boards, but there is not a lot that can be done really, unless the moderation follows the same lines as the old 606, which is something that none of us want.
Agree we dont want to down the same lines of the old 606 that moderation was OTT.
