Sebastian Larsson is officially a Sunderland player. The 26-year-old Swedish international has signed a three-year contract with Sunderland as a free agent after his contract with Birmingham City expired. Larsson, a midfielder, agreed terms with the club last month but has now officially finalised his move to Wearside. The former Arsenal trainee joined Birmingham on a season-long loan in August 2006, making the deal permanent in January 2007 for a fee of around £1m following a string of impressive performances. A dead-ball specialist, Larsson made 171 appearances for the Midlands club, scoring 19 goals. He netted three times in his final seven games for Blues but couldn't prevent Alex McLeish's men from slipping into the Npower Championship on the final day of the season. Larsson's move to Wearside sees him reunited with former manager Steve Bruce, who signed him from Arsenal while in charge of Birmingham. Internationally, Larsson has won 31 caps for his native Sweden since debuting against Turkey in 2008. He remains a regular in the senior squad, adding seven caps last season and scoring his first international goal in a 2-1 European Championships qualifying win over Moldova. ........................................... I can't take much more of this good news but keep it coming Brucie.
We all knew it was coming but it's always nice when it's on safc.com. Hope the shops got some shirts left for the fans.
I've got mine but i'm very tempted by the new away top as well, looks good on Gardner, probably look like a bag of ****e on me mind. Get a few more in hopefully soon, maybe a left sided attacking midfielder and maybe Brown & O'Shea for the defence and we'll be sorted. It's going to be some fight for places this season.
Good to know that these 5 signings have brought cash into the club shop, thy will have all had to buy an away and home shrt, shorts and socks, how much is that?
More good news, as welder says we just need the Central defence, left flank and another striker to look at so still work to do. I'd say we are 60% done on our transfers to date
Hes a beast at free kicks on Fifa, 87 to be exact (To those who know what that means) And his crossing is awesome too. Unfortunately Fifa has him down as slow too, in the 60s for Sprint Speed and acceleration. And knowing my luck I bet they gimp his free kick accuracy for Fifa 12
Lets face it, if he can clear the first man he'd be doing better than Hendo. You are right though, it's been ages since we had a dead ball specialist.
