This saturdays match against Palace is a massive game for us! and a win is vital! especially when our next two games are away to Liverpool & Arsenal, 3pts well needed and well deserved. I think Ramirez has to start and a back 3 of Chester,Dawson and Davies needs to be played!
Looking good! but Diame wont start out wide I dont think!....looking at the league I fear what season we are in for, the teams around us are starting to climb the league! and I can only see 2 points at the most been won against Liverpool & Arsenal! Need a Full crowd at the KC, getting behind the team!!
People need to stop using terms such as "must win". You'd think it was April the way some posters on here are talking. It'd be great to win and I think we will, but it's not "must win" by any stretch of the imagination. A "must win" game suggests that if we don't pick up a win, we'll be relegated. Who says we won't beat Liverpool? We did last year and our team wasn't nearly as strong as it is now.
.....but it is a must win game, for so many reasons, it will give our team some belief, which is vital if your to play Liverpool and Arsenal away!
Our team already have belief, they know they have the ability to win games, they just need to rediscover the art of closing out a lead. And Bruce needs to rediscover the art of not making daft substitutions to help that cause. Games like Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City are just bonus games for us, but we showed at the weekend that we're capable of giving the best teams a game on our day. I don't think for one second our players look at the fixtures and go "Oh God, we've got Liverpool away next week, that's an automatic loss." I think people need to relax a bit, we're in September, no season was defined this early on ever. Not even Derby.
In one way yes, but if we lose to the teams around us then we will go down, that is why people are saying it is a must win game, we need roughly 40 points to stay up & the sooner it happens the better. Home games are where we are going to pick up points most probably, so to stay unbeaten at home is key, also picking up the odd away win against our relegation rivals is important too. If we beat the teams around us then they won't be getting the points & we will. Having said that, I think we will win & win comfortably, the last time Warnock brought a team to Hull was Leeds & we battered them 2-0. I don't think I've seen such a one sided game as I did that day, he even said that we were the best team they had played all season. We are now stronger & have goal scorers in the team, I hope we really batter them, get a good few goals to help the goal difference & go on a nice run of games. We can do this if SB sorts the defence out which has been the problem in the opening few weeks.
Game 7 is hardly a must win game more a must not lose game. If we play anywhere near as well as we did against Man City then we shall win. Palace are not that good as us. imo. As for the Arsenal and Liverpool games both come at an interesting time. Arsenal after the international break and the gunners have massive injury worries already. Liverpool play Real Madrid @ home on the wednesday before us so who knows what team or frame of mind Liverpool will have / be in. We can get something at both If we are on it.
Some desperate sounding Hull supporters on here aren't there? It doesn't look good for you guys, Palace have hit form under Warnock. A reasonably settled side (just some doubts about who will be our striker on Saturday - Campbell, Gayle, Chamahk or Doyle), with a couple of good results under their belt and surging with confidence now Jedinak is back to his best. The Jedi's new partnership with Ledley and McArthur looks like being one of the most effective midfields in the PL. A totally solid looking back four based around a reunited Dann and Delaney. On the flanks Kelly and Ward at the back are dependable and link effectively with the pace merchants Bolasie and Puncheon ahead of them. Your full backs better be up for it or you'll be toast by 5pm Saturday. Recent form: Last eight meetings = 4 Draws and 4 Palace victories. Don't expect to enjoy your Fish & Chips Saturday night.
In what way is it a 'must-win' then? Please clarify. What happens if we don't win - are we accepting relegation is an absolute certainty? I don't understand this. We're in a relegation fight every season from the first whistle until the point that mathmatically we cant be relegated.
