How is Hymers College doing? Still a 100% pass rate? I wouldn't be far off the mark to suggest that by far the largest majority of Hymers pupils are from the East Riding. Perhaps the children of many of those who voted No ? Children of parents probably who themselves were born, bred and educated in Hull and probably earn a living in the city today. A living that pays for the private education for their children in the dreaded city of Hull.
What on earth are you burbling about now? HCC are involved in broader discussions with a number of parties on regional issues. There's a working group set up consistig of profs and business folk, but ERYC, despite being invited declined to get involved, but the option's still there. There's web pages explaining it. If you're an example of ERYC education, God help them.

Does anyone actually do research before posting on here? Anyway back to my previous question; In what way is service delivery poor? I've lived in the East Riding for ten years and I have no complaints at all.
I've worked in both Hull schools and East Riding schools, and only way ER schools are "better" is because they tend to have have kids from wealthier, healthier, more educated and more supportive families. Ignore what league tables or Ofsted say - their benchmarks are utterly pointless and artificial - the quality of teaching in Hull's schools is generally excellent.
Why has it, would you have voted yes to be engulfed by ERYC? The argument used for charging ER folk for using HCC services is both stupid, childish & irrelevant. If it did happen there would only be one group of losers & that would be the people of Hull. Democracy has spoken, why take it so personal?
The vote doesn't mean anything, but it's a sign that the people in the East Riding don't want Hull extending its boundaries into their areas. The National Boundary Commission will take the referendum into consideration as it reflects the views of the people, and they overwhelmingly don't want it.
Nope, the boundary commission will carry out their ow review IF boundaries are the issue. It really was a meaningless waste of time and money.
If the Commission finds that boundary changes would benefit the whole area, who will have the final say? Any change to Hull’s boundaries could only take place following an order by the Secretary of State based on a recommendation from the government’s national Boundary Commission for England. It would be the responsibility of this body to consult with local people to get their views before making any recommendations to the Secretary of State. ER just getting it in early job done.
DMD still hasn't provided evidence that proves ERYC overspend more than HCC, or that they do more harm to greenbelts than HCC.
They don't to use data like that as it's quite likely the wrong question asked. A better question is why are ERYC fearful of and independent commission.
