gerrard is finished dont get me wrong i love the guy but he just hasnt got the legs anymore the quicker he is replaced the better imho. fans who think he should be a automatic starter are blinkered.

Gerrard was good today but that was because Everton didn't target him. When he's allowed to play then He's still got it but harry him like villa did and it's a different story. Class striker , class holding midfielder then we would be there.

isco or firmino are the only real replacments for gerrard we should consider but knowing us we will end up getting another nobody :(

A replacement for Gerrard is not an attacker any more. Henderson has already replaced the young Gerrard.

Replacing Gerrard now requires some one like Khedeira or Luis Fabiano.

But I dont think we should see it as replacing Gerrard. We should see it as building a great balanced midfield.

I can understand the concern but I still think there's a lot to be encouraged by. We're on a bad run of form, that much is true but form can be easily turned around. Today was much better, and we were unlucky not to get all 3 points. Lallana is starting to look good, Moreno and Manquillo both upgrades on Enrique and Johnson retrospectively, Balotelli had a decent game today and Sturridge will ease some of that pressure that's being heaped on him. Add Flanagan and Allen both nearing match fitness and the pure fact that Sterling is developing in to a worldie, and the growth of Henderson doesn't seem to be halting either.

I trust Rodgers and I trust the very good group of players he has at his disposal. I think as the season goes on we'll really start to see the Liverpool of last season turn up. Have a bit of faith.

Top post Magic <applause> We are 6 games into a long season which will ebb and flow as always.I'm confident we will have a successful season

I just worry that todays performance from Gerrard will have everyone thinking he's capable of playing in that position. Don't get me wrong I love the guy, but no Everton player put him under any pressure whilst he was on the ball. He still for me is suspect to a mistake when someone puts him under pressure (i.e., what Gabby and Downing did to him in recent games). Defence looked more solid today however, nothing could be done about Jagielka's strike. He'll score 1 of those in 1000 attempts. Still slightly worried about the communication between the two centre halves and Mignolet, which is why i'm looking forward to Valdes joining. Might be able to improve that aspect.

Just little things here and there to improve, but i'm not too worried at this stage. Played some tough teams in our first 6 games.

A few observations on our first six games:

Lalalalallana is looking like he'll bring the goods from now on, now that he's fit.

Moreno is a quality player, didn't have his best game today.

Manquillo isn't brilliant but is improving and it says something that we aren't missing John Glenson at all. We're a better side with Manquil.

Lovren I'm on the fence about, looking like for like currently, was more positive after the first couple of games. Think he'll come good and show his true quality.

Lambert, Markovic, Balotelli... might as well float them off down the Mersey on an inflatable rubber ring for all I care, not impressed at all

Can hasn't really played enough so we should reserve judgement

As United fans know all too well, nothing is won or lost at this stage of the season. It is time for both our clubs to start getting our asses in to gear, though. It's like we're having a "who can be the most ****" contest.

Let's hope United fail to click, eh!!!!!!

We looked pretty comfortable today. I thought both full backs were excellent esp Moreno who played the whole game against Lukaku and did what we haven't been able to do in previous seasons , stop him scoring. Manquillo virtually shut out mc reedy and Baines second half. Lallana looks better with each game but Markovic looks out of it at the moment. We never really looked like conceding and but for Tim Howard's big head we would have been 2 up.
Let's face it we lost to a worldie/hit and hope/ fluke goal. What can you do about that? It was agood solid clearing header from Lovren that dropped to a defender who has only scored one prem goal before.
Just our luck but we were better today, best performance after Spurs. Don't dispair yet

I completely agree with your assessment <ok>

Our fullbacks have been a breath of fresh air. Moreno as the attacking threat, and Manquillo as the no nonsense defender.

Migs is really struggling at the moment - the lack of communication and refusal to come off his line causes so much panic. New keeper has to come in January - I know Valdes is likely to sign next month but he's a similar style of keeper. We need a real physical commanding keeper.

Being worried is understandable. We certainly won't be winning the title this season. (Chelsea have already won the Premier League this season).

I think things will improve. We've started every season off badly and then improved. Problem is- how long will it take- and how far behind will we be by then? Thankfully, everyone else who can be considered a rival for the last few spots in the top 4 are equally Shiite at the start of this season.
