Wasn't the same nonsense written about Adam Matthews a couple of years back?

Had a mate who was a Saints season ticket holder when Bale arrived into the first team. I'll never forget sitting in a pub with him and him saying "it's ****ing ridiculous, he scores a free kick or makes a goal every time he plays, he's 17!"

How many times have we said that about our Bale? <laugh> <laugh>

Declan is a better player than he's given credit for imo but he's not even the player Bale was at 16/17, the only comparison is they're left sided and Welsh.

Can't understand why people rate John. He can't tackle and frequently gets caught out of position either upfield or playing the opposition onside. The only things going for him is his age and potential. By potential I mean he has plenty of time to improve but is that enough to rate him so highly? At present he is not good enough for the Championship.

    Agree 100% there whoops, I don't think he's a defender.

Being played out of position doesn't help him in any way.
