I'm surprised to see no comments about how well he played at the weekend!

By far our best player and one, that I very much appreciate, great player!

I think he is probably one of the best players in our squad, he's terrific.

He's very consistent as well, which is a massive plus.

He still makes me nervous defensively at right back, but great going forward.

I don't want him at RB.

I dont think it's a hesitation to say he's been one of the most impactful signings in our history. I've spoken to Sunlan fans and they cant believe it, the consensus was they'd drive him down themself when we were first interested.

I agree he's much better as a wing back

Elmo has shown time and again that if he has the measure of his marker then there is no stopping him and he puts in a well above average performance.
On the other hand, if his marker has HIS measure then he has a below average game and tends to lose confidence.
He has not had a lot in the middle to play to however but with Hernandez and Jelly (showing what he can do given the chance) I think Elmo will raise his game somewhat.

My only concern re. Elmo is his defending. He plays so much better when just able to attack. Quality player.

Excellent and very under rated player when used as a wingback or a winger with 2 strikers up front. Looks more aware so far this season and could turn out to be an excellent full back too.

Don't like him playing advanced when we're only using one up front as he doesn't get in the box or support enough. Always stays wide.

Agreed, we've seen he's capable of cutting inside though and scoring goals but prefers to leave that to the strikers

He puts in a lot of effort (like Jelavic) but I find his crossing patchy.

I think his effort and performance is very consistent: he is an excellent squad member who will take some shifting from the starting eleven; he is sometimes shown unfavourably due to being required to adopt to a wingback role (as did Robertson), when the team appeared to be set-up for 4-4-2. I think he is right to focus on the channel and pull the defence, his crossing seems to be getting far more assured than it was last season.

His cross completion rate was about 15% last year (less than 1 in 6 find another City player). I'm not sure whether the fault for that is his or the person on the end of it. My guess is it's because he makes too many crosses from deep, making it easier for the centre-backs to clear it.

Edit to add: We also seemed to have the joint highest % of attacks down the right flank last season (43%).

It's strange because Elmo is too good to have on the bench but we are also a stronger side with Rosenior as right back.

I wouldn't call it strange I would call it great depth.
We are in a similar position on the other side where a player who went to the WC can't get past Robertson.

You could say similar it all over the park as well.

I think you're right with that observation. His confidence seems to be growing compared to last season & hopefully he will use that to attempt to beat a player further up the park. That way his crosses will create much more panic in the oppos' last line, giving a little more time for extra City men to be in the box to pick up poor clearances or latch onto palmed saves etc. A better variation of deep crosses & nearer to byline crosses would surely lead to more goals.
Another attribute is his never-ending enthusiasm for the shirt & the team he's playing for, as others have said.
