Has signed on loan at Newport County. With Tobi Sho Silva on loan at Welling it leaves us short of Strikers. We must be close to bringing in someone new. The article from the News Shopper is interesting. Two players had agreed to join the Club on deadline day but their Clubs pulled the plug. http://bit.ly/1uoznnQ
Cheers **** I am surprised that Piggot has had to drop down to the basement league. It really is do or die for him now. He needs to score goals , or we are looking at another Tama Tuner or Yado Mambo.
Why do you think that is...not good enough even at League 2 level? On another related note, I see Michael Smith scored again for Swindon on Saturday #ChrisPowellGreatJudgeOfAPlayer-Not
Yep, Smith scored twice. It looks as though Pigott's career is rapidly heading south. I had high hopes for him, maybe he's lost confidence and self-belief, who knows. If it turns out that the Millwall game defines his career it will be a great pity.
Have you seen any info from Newport about him? Surely he would have been promised game time to go there...
He's not mentioned at all on their OS, while Feely seems to be a fixture in their team. I did notice that in the program recently one of the youngsters said that he didn't like rooming with Pigott because he was always on the phone to his missus. Tongue-in -cheek maybe, but it seemed a funny thing to say.
Came on for the second half last night against Swindon... Replaced a Substitute in the 45min (Guess it was two injuries)
http://www.newport-county.co.uk/fixtures-results/match-report/index.aspx?matchid=3770776 - Sounds like he was unlucky not to score too Despite the County pressure Swindon continued to be dangerous in attack as George Baker's shot cannoned off the post and safely away. As the fourth official signaled a minimum of five minutes, the home support believed there was an equaliser to come and they so nearly got what they had been waiting for, Joe Pigott's back heel at the front post was heading towards goal before Belford somehow managed to get his hands to it. County had a corner in 94th minute of the game with keeper Joe Day going up to attack. As the ball was played in a near post flick on ended up being cleared off the line with nearly the last kick of the game.
He was given a long term contract so I wouldn't give up hope yet, but that contract was given with Powell in charge, if we see Grant coming in soon instead then we can write him off I think.
I can't see Ahearne-Grant coming in this season. He's only just moved up to the U-21's, in fact I think he's only 17, he's just signed what I think is his first contract. He would have scored for them on Monday too if Church had given him a simple pass instead of trying to score a wonder goal from the byline. You like to see the senior players helping the younger ones in these games, but Church didn't, and Bob was there watching too.
Not sure it will be beyond him by the looks of it, especially if we don't get reinforcements in. I noticed in the article it points out he was with the first team squad against Wolves and Watford and narrowly missed a place on the bench. Did anyone watch Wigan on Monday? If so, thoughts on Delort? Looks like he will take a while to settle if you ask me. Was unsurprising to see Sharon not pick up his man on the Wigan goal either.
I did, having had a financial investment in the match. Thoughts on deLort - why is he wearing a headband ? Playing wise - looked remarkably similar to Tucadean - slow, and not particularly threatening.
The headband was ridiculous. I hope the Wigan players cut it up in training. It's very early days for him, but I saw nothing to suggest he's a £4million player. Not even the £2million we were offering.
The Tours chairman must be the French Daniel Levy. He will obviously score the winner at the DW though.
